  1. It depends on how well the person signing the book handles it. If they're careful, it should receive the same grade. If not, I've seen 9.8s get degraded to 9.4s because of this (usually multiple signatures, though). There are certain artists known to be a little rough on comics. Whose signature are you looking to get?
  2. Considering that writing on the cover, an unverified signature, would be a noticeable defect. It shouldn't ever receive a 9.8 from CGC unless it was previously a 10 Gem Mint. Edit: You could always send it into PGX for a 9.8 Signature label.
  3. Which, again, will net you more $$$$$ than a crappy PGX-graded copy. Buyers will beware the PGX slab because they know there may be undisclosed restoration, etc. That is why CGC sells better and for more. Let this thread die.
  4. "Whosoever holds this hammer, be he worthy, shall posses the power of Thor"... It's entirely relevant. We're talking about which character can kick the other's @$$. There are comics that swing both ways, but the majority of comic book readers will say that Thor is the more powerful character. He's a God, and currently the Allfather of Asgard. The Hulk is just an angry being powered by gamma radiation. If you don't understand the reason why Hulk doesn't want to fight for Banner, then you haven't seen one (or both) of the movies enough, or you simply don't understand. There's a huge difference between not liking something because of its substance, and not liking something because you don't understand it. The way you're commenting, it seems like you simply don't understand. Either you don't understand the arc, the motivations, etc. Something is missing here. I don't like drinking a lot of beer. Not because I don't like a lot of beer, or don't understand what it's like to drink a lot of beer, but because I get real gassy and full (and liquor is more fun for me).
  5. Yeah, I read comics, and Thor > Hulk. Regardless of the comics, Thor > Hulk in the MCU, since Day 1. There is no amount of power that The Hulk can muster to wield Mjolnir, as an example. They already gave you an explanation as to why the Hulk does not emerge for the rest of the film. If you have failed to recognize that, it is not Marvel Studios' (or anyone else's) duty to delve deeper. It's fairly obvious. You're not alone in this thinking, but you're in a tiny minority. Either you didn't watch both movies enough, or you will never understand.
  6. It's explained in Thor: Ragnarok... It's one of those things, that if you didn't see previous films, you won't understand. I don't understand how you can interpret being defeated by the most powerful being in the MCU as "taking away from what the Hulk brings to the table." The Hulk isn't even stronger than Thor, which was again, shown in Ragnarok...
  7. Did you see Thor: Ragnarok..? The Hulk is tired of being a physical tool for Banner to call upon when he's physically outmatched. This is a 3-story arc for Banner/Hulk that will 'finish' in Avengers 4. Loki is dead, and AFAIK, he doesn't have the ability to "be inside" people like a freaking poltergeist.
  8. What, exactly, are you disagreeing with..? In 2014, the MCU told its audiences that Thanos is the "strongest being in the universe"... The Hulk got a jump on Thanos and showed that he has strength to challenge him, and then Thanos showed off his own physical strength and physical fighting tactics (which he historically has). We don't need dialogue for everything that freaking happens. This is the entire point of a visual exchange. We don't need 2 instances of the same direction. This is just bad inference by you.
  9. For me, the case doesn't matter. I intend on sending all of my old cases for reholder, eventually. I would prefer the newest generation case, but it's not a deal-breaker at all. Edit: The case generation should not affect the overall value at all. Buy the book, not the case.
  10. 1) Why do you keep paying respect to yourself/your own post..? 2) You're wrong. What you "believe" is entirely meaningless. Most Fantastic Four #1 buyers will know the difference between CGC, PGX, and a raw. When it comes to high-end issues like this, most people will do their homework for such an important purchase/investment.
  11. Black Dwarf. Or, in the MCU, Cull Obsidian... The reason that I liked the Thanos vs Hulk fight is, aside from showing audiences early how powerful Thanos actually is, because Hulk is just a body of rage whereas Thanos is a tactical master. I know that in the comics he avoids most/all confrontations with the Hulk because of his physical strength. We already heard in GotG, "Thanos is the most powerful being in the universe!" This fight highlighted that fact. His physical strength + combat strategies simply bests the Hulk. And, until/unless Professor Hulk comes out, it should definitely stay that way.
  12. Lmfao don't quit your day job. Usually you want to research the business you plan to enter way, way, way before you start a venture of your own. Do. Not. Quit. Your. Day. Job. Unless you want to live with your parents or be homeless.
  13. Too many factors, including the specific book, and designated grade. This information is readily available to you. This thread is pointless.
  14. That's cool. Owning an FF #1 is a great status. What is the point of this thread, then..?
  15. Then you're being purposefully ignorant or delusional. If your book has press-able defects, CCS+CGC will 100% increase the value of your book. Even without a press, that book will sell for more. I will personally buy it myself for $1,000 more than any PGX has ever sold for at its grade. Edit: The only legitimate reason there is to be afraid of resubmitting to CGC is that you're afraid of undisclosed restoration, which is another reason that CGC is tenfold better than PGX.
  16. That just isn't true. I know more than a few fellow collectors, who are not members of this forum, that avoid PGX-graded comics like the plague. I'm getting close to that level of avoidance. I haven't bought a PGX comic, wasn't particularly avoiding them, but at this point I don't think I ever will buy one. They're sub-par. Also, you are the OP, whether you mean Original Poster or Original Post...
  17. I think that's a generous number, considering that CGC just recently crossed the threshold of 5 million graded collectibles, and that 5 million includes more than just comic books. X-Men Vol. 2 #1, X-Force #1, Spider-Man Vol. 2 #1, and Spawn all alone are more than 5 million books. That's just four books in 100+ years of comic book production. I'd say that graded books make up < 1% of the market, easily.
  18. Your opinion has not, and will not, be confirmed. Does the comic have defects that are press-able? If so, a CCS press + CGC encapsulation is infinitely better than a PGX 5.5.
  19. Do you work for PGX or something, @tabcom? What's the purpose of this thread..?
  20. Your first mistake is assuming that all comic collectors are investors. They're not one in the same. A very small percentage of comic collectors is a member of these CGC forums.
