  1. Here's the thing... Hulk was made in the early 2000's as a stand-alone, while X3 and Apocalypse both failed to capitalize on promising trilogies. I've never seen Elektra, The Spirit, or Steel, so I can't personally judge them. I'm not as harsh on Daredevil as many appear to be. Not a single MCU movie merits an inclusion on this list IMO. While Thor: The Dark World or The Incredible Hulk (or whatever is at the bottom of your list) may certainly be weak in terms of a Marvel Studios film, they have great visuals, compelling characters and half-decent stories. Most of these movies lack all 3 of those.
  2. What..? This information isn't made on any assumption(s). It's all in the commentary by the directors and writers on the Blu-ray... I don't understand your comment on the Soul Stone. The discussion is revolving around Thanos using each stone independently directly after acquisition, which he doesn't do with either the Soul Stone or the Mind Stone in Infinity War. Also, all of the Infinity Stones are "infinite sources of energy", so that's not a legitimate argument for why he goes after the Power Stone first. There's no evidence that the Power Stone can "create" anything. The Russo Bros already declared that the Gauntlet (and the stones) are not capable of creating/expanding matter, to prevent people from using that as an argument against Thanos' quest in this movie. "This universe is finite; it's resources finite." <- Important direct quote from the movie.
  3. Who thinks that these are awesome? https://www.ebay.com/itm/MARVEL-COMICS-AMAZING-FANTASY-15-SILVER-FOIL-CGC-10-GEM-MINT-FIRST-RELEASE/153228563529?hash=item23ad225449:g:gB4AAOSw8-lbzjV3:rk:5:pf:0 I haven't bought them, yet, but I plan on getting all of the New Zealand Mint silver covers relatively soon.
  4. Everyone I've ever talked to lol. Black Widow is your run-of-the-mill human spy with touches of good (and bad) luck. Black Panther is a king, and an enhanced warrior, something truly imaginative. Even my friend, who's favorite comic character of all-time is Black Widow, admits that BP is a more interesting character to see on the big screen.
  5. I only saw it 6 times in theaters, though. That superfan saw it about 50 times in theaters. I downloaded a very HQ 720p bootleg after a couple of weeks, and watched that version, about 30 more times. I'm not really a cinephile, but I can watch a great movie over, and over again. I've seen The Dark Knight, Man of Steel, and BvS probably all more than 50 times. Probably original Star Wars trilogy, too. Marvel Studios throws a lot of misdirection at us, so I try not to theorize about "information leaks" and/or "set photos". I'm also trying to focus on what I want to happen and how it can logically occur in Avengers 4. I think that the Infinity Stones have to go. With Kevin Feige stating that this is indeed the finale to all things Phases 1-3, and these McGuffins bringing everything together, it wouldn't make sense for an Infinity Watch. They need to cease to exist. My most popular theory is that The Snap drained half of the total power of the stones. A second snap would be capable of "undoing" the first, and would drain the remaining power from the ingots, officially ending their influence on the MCU. Other than that, I got nothing. Lol. Infinity War blew me away, and I'm hoping for more of the same in the next one. Not trying to theorize too much. I'm also still enjoying Infinity War and plan to watch it 18 more times by the time April rolls around.
  6. I forgot about the Punisher on this thread, too. War Zone is the only comic book movie I've never finished (one of only 2 movies I couldn't stand to watch more than 10 minutes of). Punisher: War Zone is easily the worst movie that I have ever seen.
  7. Demand denied. Sabertooth was good, but Deadpool was symmetrically worse. It deserves its spot on the trash heap.
  8. He didn't want to do a sequel, unfortunately.
  9. Alphabetical Order: Catwoman Fant4stic Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer Green Hornet Green Lantern Punisher: War Zone Suicide Squad X-Men: Apocalypse X-Men Origins: Wolverine X-Men: The Last Stand Honorable Mentions: Batman & Robin (Removed from Top-10 in favor of Punisher: War Zone.) Batman Forever (Val Kilmer is awful.) Superman Returns (Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor keeps it 'meh'.) The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (Protagonist is great; the story isn't.) This list was more difficult (to narrow it down) than the Top-10...
  10. I would consider any pre-Moderns below 5.0 a "reader". Comics in conditions below that grade usually aren't great display pieces.
  11. Oh, s^&*. I forgot Punisher in my HMs. That movie is so damn good!
  12. We have to remember that the MCU is not synonymous with Marvel Comics. In the MCU, the Power Stone doesn't grant physical strength, but "power of infinite destruction". The stones glow when being activated by the gauntlet, and it isn't activated at any point during combat with Hulk. While the Russo Bros did tell us that Thanos uses all of the Infinity Stones in the scene after he acquires them, and he does so for 4 of them, he does not do so with the Soul and Mind Stones (unless you want to consider The Snap). I've seen the movie 82 times, and the only point I see him use the Soul Stone, is in his 1-on-1 with Doctor Strange.
  13. He does use the Power Stone to manipulate Loki into revealing The Tesseract, but he doesn't use it during combat with Hulk. The Power Stone, obviously, further exacerbated Thor's condition.
  14. I feel like I knew this at some point, but I did not know V for Vendetta was a comic book movie. I love a lot of what the Russo Bros did for Tony Stark in Civil War, but pooping on Bucky being The Winter Solider and the lack of stakes, really keeps that movie far away from my list.
  15. There was about a 5-year stretch when my mom had one of those 15' antennas on top of her van for a CB radio... She worked at an automotive parts store, had to deliver individual parts sometimes, and they communicated via CB... Now post your lists you heathens!
  16. My grandmother might actually have comics somewhere, that neither myself or my dad know about, yet... (Shared this before: Grandfather had AC #1, 'Tec #27, Superman and Batman #1s before a flood. Could have had others he didn't know are very valuable.)
  17. In the MCU, the Power Stone doesn't grant physical strength. The Infinity Stones are activated by how Thanos uses the Gauntlet (which is why the Russo Bros display him closing his fist to use both the Power and Space Stones after he kills Loki). He doesn't use the Power Stone in his confrontation with The Hulk. Also, the Russo Bros explained that Thor was so weak in the opening scene because his endurance was completely drained by his battles with The Hulk, the neurotoxin injected by The Grandmaster, and Hela in Ragnarok (makes sense). Thor is durable as f^&*, but without Mjolnir or another magical object to grant him regenerative powers (Stormbreaker), his body was at mercy. Just a couple of elaborations...
  18. This may give other boardies an idea of your tastes. Here's mine (alphabetical order): Avengers Avengers: Age of Ultron Avengers: Infinity War Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (UE) Captain America: The Winter Soldier Iron Man Man of Steel The Crow The Dark Knight Thor: Ragnarok Honorable Mentions: Sin City & Watchmen
  19. I'm a bigger fan of the standard cover, but (channeling my inner Aquaman), this is badass!
  20. Fair point. I'm not in the toy game. I understand a lot of hobbies, but that one I don't get. I think it's the 'lack of creativity'? Most toys are designs derived from other works. I appreciate almost any hobby involving paper or metal.
  21. Kids don't buy toys on Amazon, though. I see a lot of parents bringing their kids into the shop to buy toys. While we, as adults, have patience to find a good price on Amazon/etc, kids don't have that patience, and these toy stores benefit from that. Kids also play with their toys... Lol...
  22. The closest one to me is primarily a toy shop, so I presume that business keeps good money flowing. They sell most of their comics to me at a discount, have tons of $1 issues, and maybe about 50 that are $10+.
  23. It was: "In case you needed to kill me, but you can't; I know, I tried. I got low; didn't see an end, so, I put a bullet in my mouth and the other guy spit it out." If The Hulk doesn't want to come out, and Banner tries to kill himself, then he will die.
