  1. The Last Jedi sucked, and I don't think Kathleen Kennedy is to blame, only Rian Johnson. So I don't think this really matters much. Unless you think KK is responsible for filming 30 mins of literally useless subplot, giving Chewbacca literally nothing to do all film, expanding on nothing built in the prior episode, creating dialogue that reduces Fin's and Po's characters to nothing (why bother following these characters if they're not important?), turning every legacy character into on-screen turds while simultaneously providing us no additional development on new characters, no lightsaber duel, filming scenes with plot holes and then not bothering to edit the scenes "because fans won't notice" i.e. chamber fight sequence where a guard has 2 blades, etc etc etc...
  2. The Glenlivet sucks. This is not an authentic Man Card.
  3. Wait... There's going to be 2 Deadpool movies released in 2018..? Deadpool 2 was just 5 months ago...
  4. I was talking about actual playing cards. Like Bicycle, Bee, Tally-Ho, etc. I also play MtG, though. That's always different because of competitive play. Legacy, Standard, Extended, Modern, etc. Card prices fluctuate because of ban lists and combos. It's a lot different from playing cards and comic books. I've bought cards like Griselbrand for $40/ea when he was Standard Legal. Lost money on that. But, I also bought Ancestral Visions for $5/ea in 2010 and made a killing on those. MtG cards also get reprinted all the time outside of A/B/U and the Reserved List. Comic books sometimes get reprints for supply/demand. Playing cards rarely ever get reprinted outside of standard decks like Rider Backs. The ones that only have runs of < 1000 never get reprinted. These limited buying-reselling b-holes are killing hobbies with their BS. It's supposed to be fun and not stressful. These losers charging hobbyists an arm and a leg are deflating interest. Guess what, b-holes? If you keep it up there won't be anyone left to buy your overpriced . And you won't enjoy keeping it since you only bought it for $$$$$. As is often said here, if you buy a book that you like, and not as an investment, then at least you own something you want if you can't sell it.
  5. $$$$$ is definitely a deterrent. In the playing card community, there are true artisans that make limited decks (around 200), and there are people only in it for reselling on eBay that will buy 10+ decks on different accounts just to list for 10X the price. It's extremely discouraging. There are people that actually want to see and use these decks. This same mentality is happening with Batman: Damned. I can't find a copy for a fair price. Collecting communities of all types are being poached by these b-holes who don't have any empathy for the hobby and are trying to "get rich quick".
  6. lolwut This looks so bogus. I wish I had financial depth.
  7. It's too bad that Apocalypse completely blew and this one looks "meh". The cast for Xavier and Magneto is just phenomenal. Really the only reason I watch these turgid turds.
  8. As "eh" as this trailer is... Just a resounding NO to this horrifying comment...
  9. Oh, well, the "even" continuation of your sentence implies that all movies are being compared to A4. Moving on...
  10. Completely agree. Recasting The Joker would go a long way for the dynamic of her character. Leto sucks.
  11. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. This is a large task, but it's directed by the same guys, and if it's a true finale to Phases 1 thru 3, as Feige suggests, it could very well be another masterpiece in the same vain as Infinity War is. As Ant-Man and the Wasp was a bit of a refreshing comedy after Avengers 3, I think that Captain Marvel will be another good refresher for hype, prior to Avengers 4. It'll play on the nostalgia of SHIELD/Fury/Coulson and obviously expand on why Carol Danvers is the SOS for Earth. It would be foolish to compare films like Aquaman and Venom to a film that was 10 years in the making. Aquaman will probably be like Thor. Venom is just going to be weird. I don't even know what to expect because it is not within the MCU/Spiderverse.
  12. You've been jerking Venom off all topic. You're far from an impartial and objective contributor.
  13. From a modern audience standpoint, she's Top 10 for sure. I have friends my age who are obsessed with her. From a worldwide recognition standpoint, though, she definitely falls behind Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Zod, The Joker, and probably Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Cyborg, and Martian Manhunter. If you didn't read comics or see the animated series, you didn't really know who HQ is prior to Suicide Squad. Iconic villains like Zod and The Joker have been in multiple movies. Luthor, too. It seems, to me at least, a lot of regular people know who Brainiac is.
  14. Harley Quinn is a character who didn't appear in comics until the 1990's... How can you disagree that most people over 30 don't know who she is? Walk around any town in the world. Show them a picture of Superman, Batman, and Harley Quinn. If they don't know who the former 2 are, then, they probably live under a rock. The only reason people my dad's age know who she is, is because of the awful Suicide Squad movie. They never read a comic with her or saw the animated series'.
  15. I'm not disagreeing that they're "dark", but they were dark for reasons other than trying to "copy" The Dark Knight trilogy. That was my point of contention. I can't comment on Man of Steel pre-production (i.e. your Del Toro comment). I wasn't interested in all of the pre-release information about movies until late-2014 (Age of Ultron stuff). I really wish WB would sell the DC properties. Their meddling in BvS and Justice League just doesn't give me any faith in their ability to allow DC Worlds directors creative control and freedom. Fox did the same thing to that horrible Fantastic Four movie. Didn't Feige force himself up the ladder after Disney bought MS, because the committee was forcing too many restrictions and guidelines? I guess this is all kinda off-topic.
  16. I'm not sure what your native language is, but "couldn't care less" does not equal "lazy". You're wrong. Let me know what year you traveled to the past from. You fail to see a lot of things, so that doesn't surprise me. Your number sources are so wrong that you don't even have concrete numbers. I love that you consider your conjecture and opinions facts. I'd also love to know what your definition of "financial disaster" is because I don't see the relevance unless you're talking about a Star Wars movie (Solo) settling in the 'breaking even, to, barely making a profit' bracket. If Episode IX sucks, I find it likely that it will be a "financial disaster".
  17. That wasn't what they tried to do. Nolan had a signature fingerprint in Man of Steel, but Zack Snyder wanted to create a modern Superman origin story, with realistic interpretations and consequences (same for BvS and Justice League). It worked/works for a lot of people. I completely agree that trying formula-after-formula is ruining not only the franchise(s), but ruining the characters for audiences. WB seemingly has no interest in fan service. They're more interested in trying to get closer and closer to Marvel's blueprint. The cinematic world of comics needs some serious stories to go along with all of the action-comedies that Marvel rolls out 4 times a year. It doesn't look like that's going to continue, which is a sad story.
  18. I didn't read the 80+ pages of this thread. Couldn't care less about them. You must also think that your votes don't count. You're wrong on both fronts. If Episode IX sucks I would bet big money that they don't make a billion dollars on a single movie ever again (if they even make that much on 9 itself). If it's good, it'll revitalize the interest in the franchise for a lot of older generations. They're more wealthy than the ones they bred. Warner Bros made good money on Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice. The reason they're half-rebooting the DC Worlds is because they know Batman and Superman are billion-dollar franchises. They're not "settling" for $700 million properties. That's the point.
  19. It's funny that you think I'm the only one who spreads the word of how good/bad a movie is. Sorry to break it to you, jabroni, but fanboys like you won't keep a broken franchise alive if they know they can break a billion dollars by not making crappy movies.
