I realize that now Heritage's BP is 20%($19 min) but I noticed that back in the day it was 19.5% or only $9 min. When was back in the day?
that increase must have hurt the sellers and discouraged lots under a hoped for yield of $100

I haven't been pursuing Four Color Series I, but when I saw this issue pop up on ebay at a reasonable price, I decided to pick it up.
While I have almost half of the First Series, that is one that I have not filled in yet. nice to see it
As I am going through my collection for the umpteenth time I noticed the Jacky's Diary and was thinking that I had not seen a followup. Since this was usually a tryout series I was wondering what other attempts never got a second shot prior to the series demise?
So we have the movie issues as well as some of the later issues like the other two below. Any other come to mind?

I agree that dells were very common back in the day.. When I was playing at being a dealer 35 years ago many of the collections I bought had them so I accumulated quite a few but most were low grade.
They rarely sold at shows so I usually did not even take them.
When I switched to a four color collector 15 years ago I started off with like 75 from this stock. I am now finding many of those seed books are among the 300 that I started trying to upgrade a while back
Long way of saying that I have upgraded a Duck book so something to post here. That also means that my undercopy is available for its next home

Any spots left? This might be a good way to offer up my mid to high level books

I still have a "free" account with them, but since I have like 4000 images stored on it I basically have no access to anything. I have been in contact with them to find out if there was a paid account where I could do some kind of mass download to rescue my books but was told NO

I recently consigned my first selection with Heritage. The raw books went in the first weekly selection a few weeks ago
My individual lots did fairly well, but they grouped the lessor books in fairly large lot of 30-50 books and those did horribly
34 Silver First series Aquaman with an estimated OSV of 800 sold for 252 including the 20% Buyers premium
41 Captain America's below 200 with an OSV of 350 sold for $126
At least the 12 Hulks with an OSV of 225 closed at 228
Is there a better place to try and sell runs of Silver/bronze books

since I am primarily a traded I was very happy when they changed their policy to allow credit to be used on high dollar books. i recently traded 13 long boxes to MCS and ended up with 16 nice four colors including 6 graded issues

I'm down to needing 149 issues from Series II, though I have one more issue that hasn't arrived. Most of the ones I've picked up lately have been from eBay or Mycomicshop, though a few have been from shows. I picked up a nice Snow White issue at a local show last month. I've been collecting the series for a long time, but didn't get very serious about it until about 7 years ago. I haven't been pursuing the first series and probably won't add it to my want list any time soon. I have a friend who completed the second series a couple of years ago and only has a couple to go to complete the first series.
Getting most of yours through trades is a pretty good accomplishment. I used to have tons of duplicates, but sold almost all of them to a friend of mine or else I'd offer to trade ones you need, if I had any. I've been able to cross 23 issues off my list in the last couple of months and continue to make pretty good progress, but since I need 57 issues below #100, it likely will become slow going after a while.
Good luck with your hunt.
I have been paying special attention to the lower issues and will take lower grades than I would settle for to help. While it is the weakest part of my collection I only need 20 more under 100
Here are the first few from my last trade with MYCOMICSHOP
I will try to find time to pull more books for them. I have over 1/2 of the issues I am still missing in my cart

Link to the offering. Looks like they have only had 1 issue of this book for sale in the last 12 years. WHo knows when the next chance will come
As always if you win one of my hHeritage Auctions I will buy a book from you. Preferable a nice FOUR COLOR or FIrst print of a Classics Illustrated.
My big books will be coming up next year

i emailed you about this book, but it looks like you have not been around for a few months

SO how many holes do you still have to fill now kaculler? are you going for both first series as well as second series?
I am down to 128 including only 12 first series. Been seriously pursuing this for well over a decade, but, to make it more interesting, almost exclusively through trades.
Here are the last few that I got from Terry at the PRE San diego Con that was held last summer
Coming up next will be the latest and biggest trade with MYCOMICSHOP

not sure if my post here had any impact, But the bids jumped from 70 to 100 right after I did. when bidding went to the floor it jumped to 250 just prior to the close

Needle in the eye covers! Post them if you have them
in Silver Age Comic Books

Unfortunately my diabetes has progressed to the point that I have had Diabetic Nephropathy for nearly three years
In addition to attempting much better control of my A1c, I have also had to treat the symptoms with periodic Shots in the Eye. Over 2 dozen so far including yesterday. To add insult to injury that is the same eye that I had a cataract in a few years earler
I know that there were several covers with this image, so please post them here.
Was not sure that this was a Silver or Golden Age but I assumed that EC would have had something like this in the pre code era
I would love to look them over and decide which I might want to add to my collection and display in my office ( for point of discussion)
