  1. It's Direct Market (slash) vs. Newsstand (no slash).
  2. Look how common ASM300 is in 9.2+ and check those prices. A slabbed 8.0 in UF4 is still a $200 book and there is a market for ANY grade in this book especially a newsstand copy. Going to say a conservative 7.5 but not a terrible presenting copy at all even if it is a modern book with some grade issues.
  3. I was thinking the same thing. Easy to tell its a scam from the price, zero feedback and the silly comments about it being his dads book. Plus its easy to find this copy online with the cert number as someone already did. That's a good question but I do know that GPA will typically try to verify it as a real sale by contacting the seller and checking to see if similar cert numbers recently sold. I'm not so sure about Gocollect.
  4. Heritage is known for over brightening their images. Look at any example of a book they list and then when it's in hand. Theres examples of it on this forum. As I stated before, the newer CGC case is also clearer.
  5. Agreed with the bolded statement. Companies should take lessons learned from authenticating older signatures that were found to be fake. CGC has been posting live videos and recorded videos of their signing sessions while also calling some fans and answering fan questions. I think that's a great idea too for a fee of a creator holding their book. Fair point
  6. Agreed 100% on the lack of customer service on both ends but then again, these are not huge companies we are talking about here. I do not agree with CGC offering an authentic signature veriying already done. The benefit to CGC yellow label signature series is that there is no doubt that the book was signed in person and witnessed by someone. Authenticated signatures after the fact always leaves doubt as evidenced by PSA being caught with their pants down in verifying lots of signatures that were then deemed fake. While that other company did improve their case, it still is not as good as CGC's case. Sure its improved but it's still lighter and not as robust as the CGC case.
  7. I'm not sure you'll get the best pressing job for a quick turn around time. Check with @joeypost.
  8. I agree with you 100% on eye appeal not directly correlating to technical grade. The problem with your example is that Heritage brightens its pictures plus its an old case vs a new case (a little more clarity). I'm sure the white pager looks better but I don't think its as significant as that picture comparison shows.
  9. @ivdyer always adding more fantastic sketches to your collection! What's your count at currently? Do you keep any up on the wall or most tucked away?
  10. I'm not sure what your mission is here, I thought this thread was the Hulk 181 club? What if could be said about anything. Keep it moving.
  11. Odds are that the original poster doesn't even know what this book is. I'll bet my PGX 10.1 Turok 1 on it.
  12. Seems like such a waste to get a signature on a comic with so much artwork. IMO, it's best to get signatures on books that allow the signature to breath and have some negative space to showcase the signature AND the artwork. To each their own I guess.
  13. The same thing was said about Amazing Fantasy 15 and dealers holding onto boxes of them. Regardless of the supply, there are so many collectors that consider these books their grails because characters like Wolverine, Spiderman and the Hulk are some of the most popular characters out there that are apart of mainstream pop culture. Even if there are thousands more copies out there, there are thousands more newer comic collectors that will eventually want the book in their collection.
  14. It's like a UPC that tracks inventory for the store. Stands for Department Class Item. You can use a site like this to help track down items in store: https://brickseek.com/target-inventory-checker/
  15. It happens all the time and you have to wonder, why not check google, eBay or some other avenue? Do these people really want information? How do they get to the CGC website first and foremost and decide to create an account when they could just as easy Google to find the information they are looking for?
  16. Create an account here, send in blindly with no knowledge and then come back to the forum to gripe about grading. /theend
  17. A beautiful and inspiring human being that will be missed.
  18. A whole lot of Doomsday on this page Also on this thread and in this forum in general, there's a whole lot of repeat pictures. It is possible to quote and remove the picture to not have to scroll through 5 of the same picture.
  19. Its a typical sales practice of "as low as such as such" with leaving out further details of what increases the price and what the customer is responsible for. While it IS a standard practice, on some levels, it IS deceptive not being upfront about the ACTUAL charges that include shipping AND handling fees.
  20. He said deceptive not "ripped off" and I kind of agree with him. I just mentioned the same comic comparison in pricing but didn't mean to say that he was wrong or not reading the description.
  21. I'll go into this expecting very little and hopefully be surprised. Would stream/download at home if given an option for 19.99 or under. Not worth heading to the movie theaters for this movie as I can definitely wait to see it.
