  1. Records? Here I am picking out some LPs: Here are the ones I picked out: Here I am in front of my model cabinet: Here I am with a couple of the airplane kits from my cabinet: Here I am having a heated discussion with Balticboy about whether Catwoman, Black Cat or Black Canary is the hottest: And here's one of Balticboy looking over my Brer Rabbit books: Here I am at my St. Patrick's Day party: I'm not Irish but I'll seize upon any excuse to celebrate with butter cream icing! Here's little Phoebe enjoying herself at my party: Here's Phoebe again examining her Easter basket and then socializing with a friend at another party a few weeks later: She ended up partaking of too much of the Silverwood's egg nog that day though: Here I've lent The MAN my Don Post mask to wear on Halloween: And here's The MAN beset by a vicious beast named Foxhound: And here's The MAN trying to fend off a troupe of savage lemurs: I swear I can't let him out of my sight without him getting into trouble. Here I am ready for a night out on town with my girlfriend: Finally, here's a pic of my girlfriend:
  2. Just saying. (Guess I'm bored and it's quicker and easier than scanning any more comics.)
  3. Unfortunately no. I really love seventies pinball machines but I'd need to do some serious rearranging of my house to find room for one. At present I have to content myself with large encyclopaedic books on pinball machines. Here are the three I have:
  4. Pinballs from the seventies and later are surprisingly common - but the trick is to find one locally because they're enormously expensive to ship. The other problem of course is finding a spot for them in the house.
  5. Not surprising. It's tough to drag yourself away from the sight of those cans of hers!
  6. I love the Mata Hari game! I played it myself at an arcade on Yonge Street many times!
  7. They are the kind of styrofoam balls used as packing material. They're commonly used by milk bottle collectors because the graphics on milk bottles were designed to be viewed against a white background.
  8. Here are the most recent shots of my bottle and glass cabinet that I took just last week in response to the request of a fellow running a website on bottles from my neck of the woods:
  9. To be clear, there was no downgrade, the 6.0 is another book I purchased after I got the 5.0 What are you trying to do, corner the market?
  10. Well you've still got one over on me. As an eleven year old buying my first issue of Green Lantern in the late summer of 1963, I wasn't even aware of the existence of Showcase 22 let alone its importance. Had I even had such an awareness, I would have just pined for what to all intents and purposes was an impossibility. There were no comic shops at the time, no conventions, no mail-order dealers, no industry publications. There was nothing at all but trading with the odd other comic fan one might encounter. There was nothing "good" about those old days, other than the prices and the priceless (by present day standards) brand new comics that miraculously appeared on store racks each week!
  11. Why are you fellows trying to pull the rug out from under Illustrious? Here he went to all the trouble and expense of slabbing this book and now you're doing your best to sabotage any profit potential he might have by vigorously denying its uniqueness. Why are you doing this to a friendly fellow poster?
  12. My books are upstairs in long boxes, my glasses are now on display on shelves in my office, and my pinball machines are everywhere. Cool! Have you posted any pics of your pinball machines and other collections?
  13. Hey! You can flip it now under the premise that it's the "worst known copy"! You'll get megabucks I'm sure. (thumbs u
  14. I'm a woman and I like comic books Why don't you spread the gospel to the other members of your sex then?
  15. Hopefully you sleep with it beside your pillow. (thumbs u
  16. Why did you sell it to someone who didn't treasure it enough to keep it more than a year? WTF? Are we supposed to interrogate buyers of comic books what their intentions are before we can sell to them? You bet. Green Lantern Showcases should only be sold to those who will love and cherish them. Except I don't flip books, they stay in the collection till I die. I guess you get the Hepcat Seal of Approval then. Yes. A most coveted designation. (thumbs u
  17. That's a great idea from the standpoint of security. (thumbs u
  18. The MAN built the Ferrari 330P/LM as a kid. But he didn't paint it. The problem is that the body would now have to be broken apart to paint the interior including the driver. This I'm reluctant to do. Worse yet the car is missing the two knock-offs from the front wheels. I lost these myself racing it at the slot car track downtown so I can only blame myself for that particular deficiency.
  19. I agree. I wish I could find a nice one. I despaired though when those really nice Flashs were sold through Heritage for megabucks in 2007-08. I wonder though if they all went to the same buyer?
  20. Why did you sell it to someone who didn't treasure it enough to keep it more than a year?
  21. I sold that copy last year (thumbs u How many years was it in your closet?
  22. Here's a pic of The MAN bringing some of my slot cars over to me so that I can make sure they're still up to my ever more exacting quality standards:
