Return Shipping Costs to Canada
William-James88 replied to MarkMcGilli's topic in CGC Cards General Discussion
Canadians have paid that to ship back 1 comic from a sig series since CGC won't bundle them with other non signing submissions. -
Submitting Modern new releases. Press or no?
William-James88 replied to CMD90's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
9.8 can't be the average if it's the highest grade attainable for most modern age books. Most of them on average grade 9.4-9.6. If you want to strengthen your chances of a 9.8, then yes get it pressed. Though there are times when even a press won't get you a 9.8. Your corners have to be perfect. -
Show us your Copper Age Newsstands!
William-James88 replied to divad's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
In the grand total though, it appears newstands from the 80s only make up 18% of what is left in North America (since unsold copies were usually destroyed)- 689 replies

Show us your Copper Age Newsstands!
William-James88 replied to divad's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
Made a mistake, it's not the newsstand version, it's the Canadian price variant version. I am very surprised at how high it has gone in price, didn't know until I looked it up just now.- 689 replies

It is. Whenever I do plan on selling more of my books, that's the place I'll go. Of course, if I have a big ticket GA book, I will try these boards first.

PGM New Teen Titans Annual 2
William-James88 replied to William-James88's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Hey all, I realize this book has different price variants. The US one only has $1.00, the canadian one only has $1.25 so which version is this one? -
I've seen this thread since I got here but thought I could never contribute since I don't have any pulps nor interest for them but that's not true, I actually have pulps right next to me, on my night table, I just didn't think about them. Because they aren't from American publishers. These 2 are French pulps from the the 40s and 50s (la croix de sang is from 41) by Jean de la Hire, the most prolific pulp writer from France. Mostly forgotten today BUT the reason I have them is because they feature one of the first superheroes in fiction, the Nyctalope. He was featured in Alan Moore's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. And buying these original releases is actually one of the easier ways to read these stories.

But no longer as Betsy. They are split now and Psyloche isn't as fun as she used to be. I think it would be hard to argue against that. Silvestri's run is far more iconic with the brood arc, the mr sinister intro and wolverine vs the reavers just to name a few. To me that's as good as it gets for the x-men (right up there with the Byrne issues).

Mycomicshop is pretty great for that. You consign all your items there and you can choose to either put them on auction or buy it now. You do have to send them your comics though.

You don't say ... And the best one! Anyone know where that last one was featured in print?

William-James88 replied to Buzzetta's topic in Comics General
Here's what I got on the latest Heritage auction. I am not a fan of the page quality, but beggars can't be choosers and I wasn't gonna miss out on this comic. One of only 11 graded. -
Rejected Pre-Screens Question
William-James88 replied to Deuceboi's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
FYI, people have sometimes gotten the grade they screened for the second time around, so it would be very much in your favour if you used new bags when sending them to get graded this time.
