  1. 9.8 allow for NO defects showing wear and tear. So your comics can't get it since it has a bad corner. Gonna be a 9.6, still a good grade.
  2. This happens, not overly common but it can. The fact that CGC uses rigid plastic (as they should) means that a break/crack can be severe when it happens. Hopefully you insured your shipping.
  3. As a fellow Canadian, I can relate. Take care man and good luck with everything.
  4. CGC has been known to make purple label exceptions for GA books. You'll find GA books with colour touch also get a blue label and it not being a mistake. It is a restored price these days.
  5. Yes, it separates your order into custom label and non custom label.
  6. So call them to get more info on ordering. But yeah, screening is offered for a price, you'll learn more about it on this page: https://www.cgccomics.com/ccs-pressing/ If you dont pay for a screening, they will press it.
  7. Also you dont need a paid membership to send them out, so of it's a one time thing then get the free membership.
  8. Hi, just wondering. Are you doing this to sell and if so, would you not be able to sell the 50$ comics for 50$ without the slab? Because slabbing those will be 35$ in total costs when all is said and done. So selling at 50$ would only give you 15$ profit after waiting 3-6 months for them to come back. Selling a 50$ comic for 30$ non slabbed would get you more profit.
  9. I've been saying this ever since they tried to cancel french fries.
  10. That's one heck of a STEAL! Best 100$ I could think of spending. Congrats man, and for a first SS that is pretty cool.
  11. That remarque is beautiful. You made me very curious though, what was the price you got it for?
  12. Lots of misinformation here. No one called to cancel Pepe, all that happened was that the director of the new Space Jam film removed the scene he was in from the final movie. That's all it took to get the rumour mill going and for that comic to now be "hot"
  13. Part 2 of my big haul with lots of Golden Age Fawcetts (Marvel Family). Includes 2 pedigree books. Some fun DC Silver Age too and a Chartlon key.
  14. I wouldn't expect you too, but since the person asking was specifically referring to Canada, I wanted to add to your point since it becomes a far bigger factor.
  15. Yes it's possible. But you wont see it in cgc yet because they dont grades cards that would still hold a high value at a 1 (ie vintage sports cards)
  16. And the main negative is that if you have books in different tiers, then you are going to be spending a heck of a lot on shipping back to Canada. Also, unless you have 25 books within the same tier, you can't get prescreens. If you have 10 moderns you'd like prescreened at 9.8, the presser can pool those with others so that you get your books prescreened and avoid getting back worthless slabbed books, which happens constantly. Plus a presser could give you dealer rates on submissions. Those are all reasons I chose to have it handled by the presser. And if the presser is reading, sorry for the hassle.
  17. Well the next two parts are portrait. But any video after that will be landscape for sure.
  18. Same here. For many GA books, an 8.0 is a high grade
  19. It's more than a guess, it's what's happening. The more time high value books are with them, the higher the risk of something happening (like losing the book among all other orders). And while it does suck for the person with the more low value stuff that can be flipped for a profit now (and just now), it's just arbitrage at work. People found another way to make an extra buck, now that idea has spread to the point where people can no longer make a buck. Like people who stopped digging for gold because the cost of getting it would be more than what the gold was worth. You end up at some kind of equilibrium and that's what we are seeing. I do really like the comment mentioned before about CGC changing the way they function so that every book is entered into their system as they come in, regardless of tier, even if it means making the waiting times even longer. At least then people would know where their book is.
  20. The crazy high TATs are linked to their demand. So if you leave, you won't be missed. Any complaint here won't matter, it's urinating in the wind. If you want to file an actual complaint, go here: https://www.bbb.org/ Either they will take it seriously or laugh at your first world problem.
  21. Hahaha, man, take a look in the new Card forum and you will see that it's definitely not there. CGC indicated what has priority, it's the higher tiers and signature event books. If you want your book graded faster, pick the tier with the TAT you want.
