  1. its guide price, since that's the only info out there, it's what they end up going for. So around the $40 range for this one.
  2. yeah, that outline tells us that it's not foxing
  3. I was told once by people on these boards that stacking them would create unecessary pressure to the bottom slabs and possibly harm them due to all that weight atop them.
  4. Water/moisture stains of that size would only be allowed on a 4.0 range book.
  5. It's staining since we see where the stain originates and the spread. Foxing wouldn't have darker central spots like that. And regardless of the grade it would be, this would become the biggest defect and take the comic down to wherever this kind of staining would be acceptable. I would say the book could land anywhere between the 2.0-3.0 range.
  6. It annoys me terribly. I try to ignore it.
  7. I am having fun and yeah, I still didn't clean up, I will tonight. There was more fun stuff in the haul, I will post in due time. And yeah, I love your story, really cool to know someone who grew up with those characters originally.
  8. Maybe, it might mean the label is wrong. You will be able to send it back for free if that's the case. best case scenario, this is just an internal error that didn't cause an issue with the labels.
  9. With the crazy prices these days, I have chosen to take a break from bidding at Heritage for a while and asked for my stack of the past year and a half to be shipped. So, since it's a nice big haul and I wont have too many of these in my life, I wanted to make a video. Nothing here is too expensive, my bread and butter is affordable rare comics. So lots of rare golden age that was rather affordable in 2019/2020 with some fun silver age too. There will be three short videos in total.
  10. Well we do know that the fictional krypton, seen in the comics, did have people of colour. I was just poking fun at the use of earth terms.
  11. Well then you'll be glad to know you did nothing wrong. Firstly, you can't prescreen for a 9.9 and prescreening for a 9.8 does not mean it can't get a 9.9 either. Prescreen means they only slab it if it is "at least" whatever grade you inscribe. So you did nothing wrong there. If your book is a 9.9, you'll get a 9.9. Also, I didn't understand. So you did send in 25 books with 9.8 prescreens? And opted not to have them pressed? Also, as for you question of being scared for an outside party to handle your books incase they lose them, your book has as much chance, if not more, of being lost at CGC or CCS (the company CGC uses for pressing). That's why they ask for the value your comic is insured under. And you can look it up, books have been lost and that insurance money had to be paid out. So if you were ok with CGC, then you'd be ok with an outside presser who has a lot more riding on their trust/reputation than CGC does. If CGC loses your book, big woop, they wont go out of business. But someone who presses for a living has a lot more at stake. There are a bunch of competitors, at similar costs. All they need is some bad reviews to go down and never be used for pressing again. So yeah, reputation is their bread and butter, hence why I was perfectly fine sending in a $900 book to be pressed (among many other books). If you want more info on my presser, send me a PM, I will be glad to recommend.
  12. I don't think this is a fix or anything, it's just a stunt. The originals still exist. It's not like the Killing Joke where the original collouring version has been replaced by a new version for all further publications.
  13. Water damage like this is acceptable in the 4.0 range. So if your comic would be 9.0, 8.0 or 6.0 it will end up being 4.0 due to this kind of water damage. A comic that is 4.0 (so like a comic with a subscription crease) will remain 4.0.
  14. Just came here to say this is a cool topic, and a wonderful question in the newbie area.
  15. I don't think anyone is paying the same amount for a comic that is missing a page and the same comic not missing a page.
  16. It's an old problem and prominant enough that Mycomicshop does mention it when describing the case condition in their auctions. Glad your getting the free reholder service.
  17. Yes they are, CGC confirmed it. Your cards will be graded before anyone else who sent it to them under that same tier. They just have to get through the ones that came in before you.
