  1. It does look like it's not lying flat, and maybe that is pressable if that's not an artifact of the photo. However, the crease TRFC and the spine stress caps this around 8.0, so 7.5/8.0
  2. Looks like you might have had a bindery tear at the top of the spine that tore off, so there's a small spine split to go with the spine stress lines. Around a 5.0/5.5 once it's cleaned up & pressed. I'm not that familiar with this book, but I don't see any indication that it's a key comic. The best reasons to grade are significant books, or things that are much higher grade that what would be typical of the era Looks to me that you can go out and buy a higher grade copy for $20 or less.
  3. Have a full back cover photo? Also it looks like the BRFC is cut off in the photo
  4. The Iron First and this one perplex me. The IF seems like they went easy on it (albeit, what I thought were stains, they ID'd as foxing) and this one seems not to have gotten any breaks I guess this one is easier to rationalize. The corner crease is what it is, but the spine stress lines don't look bad to me. IMO this should have been an 8.5
  5. I've got 7.0 too b/c of whatever is going on in the TLFC and the spine stress. Of course, I thought my copy was going to grade a lot lower & it got a 7.5. Might be one of those that CGC treats just a little differently.
  6. The staining on the back definitely sets the ceiling. I think it will be more presentable with pressing, but would still score a 5.5 b/c those stains don't look cleanable
  7. I don't think so, any hard crease (i.e. something that damages the paper) is there to stay. Pressing is capable of removing things that are more like indentions & bends. Creases can be flattened, which can make the book look a little nicer. In all the books I own with printer's creases, it's definitely like paper folded into itself, it's just much tighter/smaller (like a ridge) than what happens with regular handling.
  8. I see a tiny chip out of the bottom edge that probably would keep this out of the 9.6/9.8 bin. 9.2±0.2
  9. There's a white color-breaking something on the BRFC and the tiny spine bend on the other corner of the bottom. Depends quite a bit on what that white line is, but 8.0±0.5
  10. Looks like a slight color-breaking crease on the BRFC and whatever that little piece is out next to the spine along with the tanning & wrap issues. 6.0±0.5 and I'd be more surprised if it went higher than lower
  11. I like it, especially since a lot of writers seem to always just sign in black
  12. Since you're new, make sure you check that the Marvel Value Stamp isn't clipped. It's a common thing to happen. I'm going with 6.0/6.5. That bend at the spine is hard enough that I'm betting there will still be some residual evidence of it. If the stamp is clipped, it's still the same grade, but would get a green label and take a hit in value.
  13. 4.5±0.5. If it could be cleaned, maybe higher as that seems to be the biggest issue. I just can't tell if it's soiling or something else
  14. 5.0/5.5 This all comes down to how harshly the tanning is graded and the actual color of the internal pages.
  15. 7.5. A significant enough misqrap will bump a grade down 1/4" is considered acceptable according to their guide. I think the bend/crease brings this to a grade that the wrap isn't considered.
  16. Received this today after negotiating a decent price. I think the seller might have graded it too hard, or at least harder than a lot of online sellers do. For the uninitiated, this is the first professional artwork by Greg Horn. There are definitely a couple of light indentions that look pressable (e.g. in the dark demon-guy on the front cover). The most questionable part is some light soiling along the spine. IDK how easily that might come off, but it's not particularly obtrusive regardless.

    Incredible Hulk 330

    From the album: Marvel CGCs

My purchase hedging that CGC lost my MJs copy during the Todd McFarlane signing (not bitter)
  18. 4.0/4.5, front could be a 5.0 with subscription crease, but the back is going to cost something.
