He had one last February. You really think he'll do another in the same year with a pandemic??? If he did an in house with cgc I think it would require him to travel so doubt that happens at his age

well Desert Wind does list some signing to take place after September

We were just informed the next signing will not take place until after September. We will post more details as we get them.

With all the updates about Claremont, anyone else find it odd it was pretty radio silent about Frank Miller last week?

per a post from Brittany on FB

Gary Mui No video clips of Frank signing?

    • Brittany McManus
Brittany McManus Gary Mui we were unable to take video content of Frank during his signing.

don't know if they weren't able to for technical reasons or if FM didn't want to be filmed/photographed

  3. Does CGC grade autographed books?

Yes, under the following circumstances: CGC’s prestigious Signature Series label (yellow) is applied to comic books that have been signed under the direct observation of a CGC employee or a select CGC authorized witness, or in select instances where CGC accepted signed books directly from the signer / publisher. The signatures are authenticated by CGC, and the labels indicate who signed the book, the date it was signed and, in some cases, the location where it was signed. If a book is signed without a CGC representative present, it will receive a Qualified label (green), and will receive a Qualified grade. No authentication of signature is provided for books that do not have a CGC Signature Series label. To learn more about CGC Signature Series, visit https://www.cgccomics.com/signature-series/

  4. I have taken photos of the few (2) books I have ever sent in ... good practice to do so, yes .... however ultimately there is no proof that the book you have a photo of is the book you actually sent in other than to yourself

with older books will likely be some distinguishing characteristics most of the time so that helps, maybe not so much with modern books

then again, trust goes both ways and we have to trust CGC is sending us back the book we actually sent in

Has anyone ever requested a signature be put on the splash page for modern books? How does CGC handle this? How do artists usually handle this?

I was thinking of sending a book in to one of the in house signings, but frankly I don’t want black scribbles across the front of the artwork. I know CGC wants window bags to save time, but that wouldn’t be possible with an inside signature. Would they just reject it as a submission or?

    good question

I don't see anything in their SS releases that specifically states that the sig has to be done on the cover (other than the window bagging which would imply such)

though it doesn't state such (probably because the in house signings is a fairly new thing) I would think they would prefer not to have to page through to tabbed interiors and would default to just covers for simplicity/expedience sake

I would ask the ask CGC subforum https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/23-ask-cgc/

please report back as it may be helpful info to others who would consider the same

For the Frank Miller signing, I'm trying to submit a Wolverine #2 (Oct 1982 book) for signing and use the Wolverine custom label.  The same picture is on the book as is on the label and I would love it.  Well... the online submission form does not recognize the book and I have to add the publish date.  The problem is that because the book is not recognized, I cannot select a custom label.  Ironic that I cannot add the label to the book that the label was based on!

Should I submit as Wolverine #2 from the 1988 series?  Because that allows me to select this option.

did you select Marvel as the publisher first?

someone else had an issue with the character labels not appearing and was resolved by selecting the publisher
