  1. Eggman, my heart hurts for your losses. But I am glad that the most important thing is you and your family are safe. The smoke traveled into our area all last week and it was just terrible to see on the news. Please let me know how I can contribute to helping you and your family get back on your feet and building back your comic collection. Certainly will be praying for you.
  2. yah, I have seen a handful of those books on HGC with success....
  3. It is still simply CGC's professional opinion as to what color the label is and what notes are printed on their label. It's still up to the owner to be knowledgable about what they are getting inside the plastic tomb. I do know the Larson Tec 35 is a beautiful book that was recently owned by a board member for some time. Not sure who owns it now. I do think it is a shame to have any pedigree mark (ie Larson/Lamont penciled name) cleaned off from a book's cover. The Larson Marvel Mystery 9 also had it's name cleaned off.
  4. certainly has 4.5-5.0 FC eye appeal...count your pennys, nickels, dimes, quarters
  5. Speaking of Marvel #1, it's good to see two unrestored NOV copies go to auction in the same week. Both have decent registration. The last MC 1 to be offered publicly, was a 3.0 copy with blurry registration on HA in 2016. https://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=744183 http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FSEARCH.ASP%3FFocusedOnly%3D1%26where%3Dauctions%26title%3Dmarvel%2Bcomics%2B1%26GO%3DGO%26ItemType%3DCB%23Item_1209829&id=1209829&itemType=0
  6. Kirby did interior work in Jumbo Comics #1 (on sale July 1938), and issues #2 and #3 as well. The OSPG also supports this. http://dcindexes.com/features/story.php?storyid=238600
  7. your Actions and classic cars are worth a bundle of posts
  8. Sometimes folks sticker their books at “I don’t want to sell it” prices and use books as eye candy for their booths. Not saying this was the case but it happens. There’s many variations of .5s out there so maybe the seller was “testing” the fmv as well. You never know who will show up at a major con to buy.
  9. Hope the fires didn’t affect the museum. https://www.newsarama.com/36866-peanuts-schulz-museum-closed-due-to-california-wildfires.html and I hope woowoo (Harold) and HarvDoss are ok.
  10. the Great Pumpkin is one of my favorite Peanuts episodes.
  11. Yes, regarding Simon. Goodman had just hired him as his full time editor in Chief. And soon enough, Simon would pull away a young Kirby from FOX and mentor him at Timely for the next two years.
  12. Dating Mystery Comics #1 (on stands late Oct 1939, after MM2 but before MM3). 1st Schomburg cover for Timely.
  13. Aug 8, 1961. I have seen date stamps typically from the 8th - 15th. I have seen one copy stamped with a Sept date.
