1984 by George Orwell   Signet Giant S798  1954  1st Paperback Edition with the famous Alan Harmon "Big Brother" cover art.   11th Printing is the Gold Border variant  (I know of 4 variants of the 1st PB cover, Red, Black, Pink & Gold, I think that's all of them)    $50

One of the most famous paperback covers in vintage Science Fiction and one of the most significant anti-totalitarian writings of the 20th century. This is a great looking copy.

Fine Plus - Solid and square with minor wear, no front cover creases and only a small on on back corner.

Best of luck! My quads are screaming at me just imagining the mileage you will be putting in.  At least it will be a flat course.

Just a reminder that I'm offering ASM #86 in CGC 9.4 OW/W on page 11.  Since that one doesn't seem to be selling, let's try a couple of other Spideys.

    Amazing Spider-Man #87 CGC 9.4 OW/W -- $425

    image.thumb.jpeg.b6a965a1fdf4b4e6ea545a71f50ebf3c.jpeg

    Amazing Spider-Man #94 CGC 9.4 OW/W -- $375

Prices include shipping to the continental US, please be ready to add actual shipping costs if you live elsewhere.  If and when both of these sell, I will take down the #86, or vice versa.

Let's see if we can raise some more dough for Jimbo!

I can’t believe that no one has bought either of these yet. hm

here's a great and underappreciated cover for jimbo.  should be an overstreet/cgc classic.  very pretty with a couple problems.  the single staple is popped.  somebody, not me, ran some glue down the interior spine to make it one piece,   there is a piece of tape on bottom edge of f.c. that you can see.  a 5.5 sold for $660 in august.  ask is $300, shipped, for our guy.

Now, the thread title says to “make you earn it”, please tell us how.

For the first three years of this endeavor, we’d all come together behind our internet enabled devices, have friendly banter and bidding wars, filled with many pics of our respective furry friends, and in the end have a nice pile of cash to send to that year’s chosen cause.  But this year, I’m basing the fundraising around my participation in the Dopey Challenge, which is held at Disney World from January 4-7.  For those who don’t want to Google this, there’s a 5k, 10k, half marathon, and full marathon held on consecutive days, and the Dopey Challenge is to complete all of them.  That’s 48.6 total miles over four days, and beyond just completing all of them, I also have time goals set for each race.  I’ll get to those in a bit, but suffice to say that participants can now have some extra fun – pledge per mile, per race, per time goal, or anything else you can think of!

It’s been a while since I’ve done that kind of serious running. I could barely walk after completing my first marathon. I’ve had friends do the challenge. It’s no joke. Make sure to carb load and take your gel packs!
