    hm

    • A mid grade Avengers 1 (been saying this for at least three years

    lol)

    • Vault of Horror 35
    • A cool early Timely

The truth is that I rarely stay on -script but always end up buying cool stuff.

    Bring on 2023!

Well none of those happened! I did buy a mid grade Witchcraft 5.  Otherwise, it was a pretty slow year for the collection.  I think the steep decline in prices has actually been more of a deterrent than an incentive.

Don't waste 2.5 hours of your time with 'Marvels' movie. For good Brie well written/directed by BJ Novak, try season 1 of 'Lessons in Chemistry.' 8 episodes streamed so far with each episode getting better. Still has some female empowerment so u will feel it may be tangentially MCU.

    Enjoyed it!

If you could only have one page, this would be the one!

That's for the best! My wife doesn't actually care, but she's not really a "stuff" person, so she doesn't understand the impulse to accumulate things. Except money. She likes to accumulate money. So in her mind, why would I like to have this junk, when I could have money instead? Sometimes I think she may have a point, but I haven't fully come over to her side yet.

Money is good, but the bigger books I own are worth a lot more than my initial investment, even in the economic downturn.  All my floppies/CGC books fit in one small closet now.  The only way one would know I'm a comic person is by seeing my collection of Omnis/Hardcovers/TPBs and the odd comic t-shirt.

I've enjoyed the process of selling many books and buying one quality book (classic cover or key) in its place.

I received the first Invincible Compendium today. Really looking forward to this one. I haven't seen the show, but have been interested in the book for years now, it's just one of those ones I never got around to. With Omni-Man one of the upcoming characters debuting in the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack 1, I figured now was a great time to learn about the character.

I knew I wanted the compendiums, but everywhere was sold out of them... Except my LCS, who had it listed as a possibly orderable item. Two days later they had it in (great service) and they express posted it to me at no charge (love them) and voila, it arrived today. Nice and chunky, good print quality, I'm looking forward to getting this one after I finish reading my current novel.

Anyone else read it? Is it as good as I'm hoping?

First 100 issues were very good.  Very enjoyable series overall.

The Lottery    Shirley Jackson    Lion Books #14    1st PB edition        $70

One of the most reprinted and "analyzed in English classes" stories of the 20th century.

Classic Herman Bischoff Pulp GGA cover of Tessie Hutchinson collecting her lottery prize

I just barely upgraded from this copy recently. A very tough book in any kind of decent shape, I've never seen a VF

Fine.  Square and solid tight spine and pages tight and supple with light toning. Slight wave to bottom of book. Light creasing and traces of old tide line on the back. Despite these flaws it presents very well and this was the best I could find for a long time.

That is now 1/3 or more than 194 and  238 command in 9.8.  I do feel especially sorry for the suckers who purchased either at 4K, 5k or even higher while some here during the bubble continually mention "unlimited upwards trajectory" or similar self-serving sales bile, while those with actual Comic, Economic and Financial acumen were scoffed at.

At one point each in 9.4 was going for over $1000.  Those who have 9.4's are no longer "good" as was mentioned they were early in the main #194 thread.

It might be time for me to look for a High Grade 194 & 238.  I sold them many moon ago assuming that I'd upgrade but got scared off by the crazy prices.
