  1. Just read a few pages of this thread and really sorry that your Action #1 page is lost or stolen.. I feel for you man, and it just burns inside. I hope you get it back in one piece soon. Will keep on the lookout for the page. GL!
  2. Well, winning bidder returned the book due to a missing page (not in the relisted description), trimming, and color touch which also wasn't in the description the first time around. Ouch!
  3. Yep 3800. Made an offer and was countered 4k. Spine of covers look somewhat brittle to me. Hopefully it's not the case.
  4. Well that stinks.... The Tagalog Komics with a K are actually quite beloved on the islands. Its the bookstore editions that harbor a sort of lack of respect all the way to ill-will. I have met some Filipinos who love their local output of American stuff but many see no use for them if they can acquire the American original... hence the rarity. I'm unsure if my dad had US versions or the Filipino variants. He said he had titles such as Superman, Plastic Man, Blackhawk, etc. Dunno if they have Phillippine versions of those. Sorta.. if it is the late 50 into the 60's I think the books your dad would have run into would be the South East Asia editions. It appears they were meant for all of Oceania and even Thailand and Vietnam, but were printed in the Philippines. Earlier in the thread there is some more great info about these.... Cool man thanks for all the info. and history lesson .. well my dad was born in 1941 during the war so I would think anywhere between early to late 50's is the era of books he had back then. I guess I'll never truly know which edition it would be.

  6. Ugh. I'm sure my dad had a lot of those kinds of books from the 50's back then. Sadly his mom threw em away
  7. One of the sellers I stay far far away from.. Back then he didn't even disclose any restoration or trimming that were done to the book. Just have a bad vibe about him.
  8. now thats a Boner You bet! If anyone can hook it up with the covers, I'll be sure to show everyone what having the biggest boner is all about!!!
  9. Anyone have a Tec 27 front and back cover they wanna sell?
  10. Well to be honest, I couldn't see SC #4 being in the same price levels as AF #15 in the long run. Sure it had its temporary peak being neck and neck with AF 15, but I just didn't believe it could sustain it. I know how rarer the book is compared to an AF 15, but I would still value it lesser.
  11. Been wondering that myself and congrats Ankur on the Tec 27! I hope to get there someday...
  12. Thanks guys and no that dark strip off the spine is not the rainbow prizm effect
  13. Not the best looking copy, but .. Just got this in
  14. Yeah I'd think prices for an Action 7 and Tec 29 should be a lot closer in value, with a nod to the Action 7.
  15. Thought I posted but I didn't see it. Glad I bought this book before the prices started going
  16. What would a 9.8 sell for now!?
  17. Nice looking Sen 1 3.0 and AS 8 2.0. Those are the kind of low graded copies I would like to have in my collection.
  18. I liked Doc Oct in Spidey 2 actually still my favorite Spidey movie. Not sure what it is you didn't like about it but would like to hear your thoughts. Let's bring on the Sinister Six! Or do a remake of the symbiote storyline.
  19. Anyone have a back cover to a Marvel 1 for sale by any chance?
  20. There's really no need to explain anything, ever, but forums are a nice place to exchange ideas, learn about other peoples practices. True about exchanging of ideas. I have learned so much about comics from different genres that it has expanded my ideas and thoughts about collecting a variety of titles. But sometimes those ideas can be abused or misinterpreted. Some practices can be shared some are also private. The whole ordeal about pressing and tape are a couple off the top of my head.
