i claim responsibility for the nickname; introduced it in mississippi. I thought you like to call me "...tiger" (or should I have kept that between you and me??) gator not exactly; what i like to call you is related to a tiger--different kind of cat, tho'. starts with a "p." (ok, you one upped me on that one) gator So not a Tiger, but a Pa Pa P...uma, yeah a Puma..thats a cool cat. I thought it was puddytat. But I stayed away from that part of the house while they were coming up with those love nicknames! Ahh...Thats right, you were on Bills lap in the Den! zing! gator That's how I got the Cap 3. Why do you think it was cleaned......OOPS. I hadn't disclosed that. Sorry, forget I said anything...... Does that mean I have to sit on someone's lap to get the Cap 3? Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Bang, Love your MMC 12! Parents in the early 40's must have loved to see books like this in the kids bed room. Pretty risky for back then. Demonic bondage with headlights, doesn't get much better than that for a classic Timely cover! I think I am going to have to get one of those soon.

Got my Cap 47 in yesterday! Very exciting! So I thought I would have a crack'n party here on the my favorite thread. Here we go! Ok, so a few things, this book is easy VF 8.0 except for staple placement, also there is no tape what so ever on this book, not sure why graders notes indicate this. Page quality is off-white, and color is razor sharp. It is readable, but difficult and I haven't finished as I am a *spoon* and don't want to hurt the book. All in all a steal at 736+ insurance and shipping! Also thanks to Richard at Bedrock I now have a pending Cap 3( I have to say, fun guy to talk to, and hell of a nice guy with wonderfull business practices, will do more business with him) Yippie! Richard, I would so love to see all of those books! I can't imagine how beautiful it would be to even have one of them, let alone see all grouped together. What some 400 Super hero Timely's in high grade.... Does anyone know him personally enough to see if he would allow pics to be taken and posted in his honor on the boards?

BZ, just a stunning copy. Now I know what the colors are REALLY supposed to look like on my copy! Beautiful copy BZ. Does this cover remind anyone of Rock'em Sock'em robots? Like on the new Dodge truck commercials. Sweet book, I like it alot...

Last question for now, is there better projection of scarcity for GA books out there? Gerber seems to be way off on many of these......even harder to tell with resubmissions to CGC. I wish they had a web site link for typing in serial number of the book and checking off the census when broken from slab. Its so hard to tell whether certain books are just tucked away or actually scarce, it seems many scarce books from Gerber are most likely double the count not factoring in long time collections which have not surfaced or hidden finds yet to be discovered. I am hoping and thinking one of you guys will have some data derived from years of experience and or collecting experience. Paul

Another nice choice but the Sub-Mariner should be take this one by a wide margin. Love them both but I think they are way more HT's in VF or better than there are SMC #1's. I think a 9.0 is the highest copy? Subby for me all the way. He is my favorite Timely character Me too! I see a lot of Torch's in F/VF range and up for sale, but rarely a High grade Subby 1. I love and want a Torch 1, but if I had to choose......(I'd take both if budget allowed)...but if I had to..The Subby!
