  1. Clearly a custom job, with no templates to use as guides.
  2. This could be an additional checkbox on the want list or profile page theoretically. (Send Notification whenever the price drops by whatever percentage.) This would take more processing power, but it would give the users more control over their want lists.

  8. Hi Everyone, Some McFarlane slabs to start... RULES: First "takeit" in the thread wins and trumps any PM negotiations until the post has been updated as SOLD in the thread. I reserve the right to overrule takes in the event that a PM deal is concluded, and I hadn't yet had a chance to mark an item sold. Please do not edit takeits. Payment: Payment by Paypal, Venmo, Check/MO, or Cash in person. Invoices will go out after the thread ends. Payment expected within 72 hours unless we communicate and agree ahead of time. Shipping: $12 for the 1st slab within the USA. +$2 for each additional slab. Domestic shipping is via Priority Mail usually. International shipping will be at cost and must be determined prior to sale. Returns: All sales on CGC graded books are final. Please inspect the images for damage to the case before buying. Buyer is responsible for shipping cost back unless item was damaged in transit.
  9. You would hope this would be the case after having been at CCS pressing for 13 months...
  10. I used to pick these up (cheaply) every time I came across them, but then I started giving them away over the years. (One just recently.) Looks like I’m down to four. Some of you sound like you do the same and have multiples. Some seem to have the issue where the staple almost pokes through the front cover though. I don’t know how that impacts the grade.
  11. You see so many more Spirit Specials available than the Vampirella Specials (Both the softcover and the 500 limited edition hardcovers). The Spirit Special supposedly only had a print run of 1500 with 10 graded copies out there. Highest are four 9.4 copies although I've seen many copies that if graded could be higher I guess... The Vampirella Special softcover has 49 graded copies with zero 9.8s and four 9.6s but you hardly see them up for sale. If they had a print run of 5000, they must go right into collections never to leave.
  12. Giordano / DC Comics signed and gave me a drawing board many years ago.
  13. I've had slow payers on Consigned Items but no outright non-payers yet. I usually don't have a lot of money into the actual comics, but I do have the slabbing and consignment fees to consider when considering offers.
  14. Yep. First time setting up again in what must be ten years. A friend wanted to set up at a show for the first time so I decided to help him out and build him a comic display rack. We didn’t bring much this first time… just slabs and some misc items, but it was a good show and learning experience. Quick and dirty rack build but it has recessed nut inserts and external knobs to make it easy to attach the back pieces. Standard wire shelving that can be different sizes. Rubber feet to make it non-skid and to elevate the front angle. Cord locks and string to keep the books from falling. It was sized for slabs this time, but it’ll probably be resizable for both slabs and raws with six shelves in the future. Six feet wide for an 8’ booth. I’d probably do 14’ wide for 16’ or 8’ for a 10’ booth. (A 6 and an 8.) I use zip ties to keep the bottom part of the wire shelves from sliding horizontally which gives it added strength structurally. Everything breaks down into a long and narrow bundle for easy packing into an SUV.
  15. I think they add to the hobby actually. I enjoy the certificates myself and actually created some for some of the Green River books I obtained and sold. (I think they help in that they highlight the date stamp, but Green River Pedigree books are more easily identifiable.) If you're saying they're worthless in terms of actual dollars and cents, that's an entirely different issue as proving the provenance of something is better left to the "experts". I have a From the Collection of Brian Bolland Killing Joke #1 that may or may not be true, but I enjoy having it nonetheless.
  16. I think MCS just adds on the EBay fee to the Consignment price so I don't know if they actually make any profit on whether it sells on eBay versus their website besides the increased exposure. The Best Offer option differs drastically from actually listing it on eBay yourself since you cannot converse with the person doing the offer by way of messaging. It's either a counteroffer, accept or deny. It's a much better percentage than listing it yourself on eBay so that's the tradeoff although I realize that eBay buyers who make a best offer probably may not realize their messages don't make it through? (I'm not sure if comments can be turned off for eBay offers.)
  17. That's true. I tried sending some RAWS as a test. Probably won't be consigning any raws in the future.
  18. I wish they had spent more time proofreading the certificate.
  19. Newer section with file cabinets that can hold two rows of comics and about 2000 total? I prefer these actually and lateral file cabinets for indoor use. Lower walls of drawer boxes under desks/tables since the table has to hold scanners, printers, computers and other equipment.
  20. My old (very old) comic room layout with the original long drawerboxes. (Reinforced with composite boards between layers). Basically, a wall of drawerboxes.
  21. It really should be user selectable (interactive date entry option or pulldown). They could still have their default selection which would save on processing time for database calls, but it would provide more functionality to the paying members. But yes, active submissions should never fall off the screen.
  22. One of my submissions also dropped off due to the 8-month mark. Due to the longer turnaround times, this seems like a quick and easy fix: Change the arbitrary 8-month filter in the display code to a 12-month or even 18-month display filter.
