  1. Here's a raw one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Showcase-4-very-FIRST-Flash-DC-Comics-1956-/110641865597?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19c2c4e37d Thoughts?
  2. Well, it's an auction-style listing, so we'll have to wait and see Interesting that these are starting to come out of hiding.
  3. I was looking at that. Doesn't it seem high considering the cream pages?
  4. It is the FF #1 of SA DCs. It's ok, being a DC'er most my life, I'm used to the abuse
  5. Maybe because the scan is large and so much easier to see, but that 7.5 is really gorgeous (thumbs u
  6. I forget, is that what it originally sold for?
  7. Slabs always give my scanner a problem. The plastic reflects back the scanner the lights. It looks a lot nicer than the photos in the listing!
  8. Got my MIS's, everything was fine and dandy. Thanks! Bob
  9. . . . and that watching ebay can net you a deal from time to time.
  10. Much nicer looking scan, and book. Congrads on snagging the deal of the year thus far (thumbs u
  11. Before someone could write the seller and offer him double to kill the other deal
  12. Sometimes you got to bow to the slab at the end of the day, it sets the price.
  13. According to feedback last sale by seller was back in Apr-18-09. I wonder if this could be a scam, or so-called hilacked account? I hope for the sake of the buyer it is not. I guess not, since seller (bryans999) already has received positive feedback from buyer (nikatnight81) who is on first name basis with seller "Very Nice! Thank you again, Bryan!!! Everything was Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Buyer: Member id nikatnight81" Wow, what a deal
  14. It does look kinda weird, and the scan is pretty bad, and that corner crease and chip . . . but there it is, right there on the slab, 6.0
  15. Congrads (thumbs u That was probably one of the nicer 4.5's I've seen and by the general lack of sales, perhaps among the nicer Showcase #4's that's exchanged hands in recent years. I didn't know where I had seen it, but I remember those stamps
  16. Where is that Savannah copy of Showcase #4, I can't seem to find it anywhere on Heritage's site They should spend some of that loot they make on a new web interface. It's pretty lame. I would imagine soon on Heritage since they're handling the Savannah collection. Here's the CGC link. (thumbs u http://www.cgccomics.com/news/viewarticle.aspx?IDArticle=1883& Great! Thanks for that. I may not have the coin for it, but I DO want to keep an eye on it. Maybe the buyer will have an under-copy to sell that better fits my budget You'll never know if you don't put in that bid.
  17. But SC #22 does not have Neal Adams artwork........ If it did, I think it would be even more valuable than Action #1 and Detective #27... combined! I would not go that far. Marvel Comics #1 and Captain America Comics #1 combined is probably a safer bet. I`ve got old newspaper that`s been used to wrap fish that`s worth more than a Marvel Comics #1. True enough! I think we should be careful, though, as we don't want to attract the MC #1 trolls to this thread...... I'm sending angry vibes towards Tim. I was wondering how long it would take before you weighed in
  18. Just saw it. Pretty neat. I wish they'd show the outside of the book. What I don't like about volumes like that is they're usually trimmed. I don't understand why they have to do that -- why not just use a larger book binding? I bet it's to line up the edges of the comics. The individual comics were all trimmed separately and are all bit different. This would be how to even things up and give the pages a clean edge.
  19. Anyone catch this cool bound edition on ebay? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200567599474&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123

  22. I didn't know, who said there was one in it
  23. you know where I'm going Honestly, that book will likely go a lot higher than I'm likely to go
