  1. Shifting the focus back to SC #22, there's a 5.5 CR/OW copy coming up for auction at Comiclink on 3/11 http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2Fsearch%5Fadv%2Easp%3Fall%3Dy%26TITLE%3Dshowcase%26TITLEOPT%3DALL%26ISSUE%3D%26Condition%3D%26ConditionTo%3D%26CensusRank%3D%26SearchPageQuality%3D%26Pedigree%3D%26PRICEF%3D%26PRICET%3D%26DESCRIPTION%3D%26DESCRIPTIONOPT%3DALL%26SearchRemarks%3D%26SearchCGC%3D%26EXCLUDE%3D%26CATEGORIES%3D%2D1%26WCATEGORIES%3D%2D1%26SORT%3DCATEG%26%5Fwhere%5Fforsale%3Dy%26%5Fwhere%5Fauctions%3Dy%26x%3D0%26y%3D0%26where%5Fauctions%3Dy%23Item%5F881923&id=881923
  2. I'd love to some day make it to the next rung with a 6.0. That's the place I like to be, 6.0 and above, if I can afford it.
  3. Could it be the photos. It doesn't look very good in them The case has been made for taking good photos to get close to FMV.
  4. It looks like the copy I held in hand at the last NYCC. I ended up buying a nice copy of WW #14 from him. Precisely
  5. This is the second coverless book I pointed to today (there's a SC #22 coverless as well) so I figured equal time and let prospective SC #4 fans know about it. It might be a good option for someone on a budget to buy and have a repro cover affixed to it (that is if the seller is willing to offer it for a better price). http://cgi.ebay.com/SHOWCASE-4-FLASH-1ST-DC-SILVER-AGE-COMIC-SUPERHERO-/370487761054?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5642ca989e#ht_500wt_898
  6. On a coverless book, you could have them cleaned and a repro cover added, for a decent result
  7. For the budget-challenged collector http://comics.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=121110&Lot_No=10408&type=wlem
  8. Saint's be praised, I won me a Savannah! Raised my bid earlier and it ended on top. Showcase #13 with that cool "variant" blue cover. A little pricey, but less then it could've been. The big-boys went home after the major keys sold
  9. Good thing you didn't remind me about that other 6.0 before the auction ended. I might have done something stupid, like bid on it
  10. Quite impressive. It sure makes the other SC4 6.0 that sold on Ebay overpriced. I'm glad you brought that up. I completely forgot about that book. Dec-02-2010 $9,995 Cert# 0635098001 according to GPA. The 7.5 came to market right after it, and stole the spotlight. I read back and we were all pretty leery of that particular copy and the price. But yes, in comparison (and with the pedigree bump in value) the one that sold yesterday was a much better price, even with the "juice". Timing just sucked for me . . . again.
  11. While the Savannah pedigree Showcase #22 8.0 OW in the recent Heritage auction seems to have gotten all the attention, the more modestly graded SC #4 6.0 OW was bid up pretty high too with a closing bid + Heritage's infernal buyers-premium reaching $8,663.75.
  12. Thanks! CGC notes a very minor amount of color touch on cover, but it's a blue just the same. I guess it was minor enough to let it slide.
  13. Well, I know someone who's got an undercopy #11 he'll part with The strange things is #11 is one of the harder to find #'s but I found 2 in the span of a few months (hence the 6.0 undercopy). Unfortunately, neither was the "D" copy specimen. That copy was last traded as a slabbed 8.0 OW I believe. I would kill to find that one, even though the one I have now is higher.
  14. coulda, woulda, shoulda . . . Bob, you still can. You know that is not your price Haha, I hear you. Regardless though, as it stands you have some quality copies yourself. I'm less one now. So . . .
  15. coulda, woulda, shoulda . . . Bob, you still can. You know that is not your price
  16. I believe those were the page quality standards that company used. makes sense (thumbs u
  17. I think they printed more than one
  18. Cool. But I must be missing something here. The numerical grades don't seem to match the stated grades (the SC #22 has 4.5 which is a lot lower than VFN). The SC #4 says NM 80 (4.0) $60,000! Maybe those aren't CGC numerical grades?
