Out of curiosity, I looked at my run of Arkham Samplers.  Only two of the eight issues had clean staples, the rest were rusty to greater or lesser degree. On some of them it was the only notable flaw in otherwise very nice books.

Jungle Stories #1 and 2, Winter 1938 and Summer 1939

I've had the first issue for a while and recently added the second.  It's interesting that there was a 6 month gap between the first and second issues.  Maybe Fiction House was waiting for sales data before proceeding? 

The series for 59 issues on a nearly quarterly basis from 1938 to 1954.  Every single issue's lead story was Ki-Gor (a Tarzan imitator) so I think you could consider Jungle Stories a hero pulp.  

Both covers are by Saunders.

Yes, I have nice copies of the Arkham Samplers as well, but most if not all have rusty staples.  I think it's common on those.

This was the least expensive book that I picked up at the show - I guess the publisher’s decision to replace a cover image with the table of contents wasn’t too smart after all (duh).

Anyway, this copy is almost newsstand fresh, including white pages, so I could not resist...
