Awesone classic covers of key isssues BZ, and if beautiful shape!!

I read the Ward article and was amazed when I found out that he was the artist that did the Superman paiting that hung in DC's offices for years. I wonder where that one went (don't tell me you have it BZ), that would be awesome!

Hi folks, stunning books in this thread! (worship)

While this one's not pristine, or incredibly rare, I thought it would still be fun to share.

Welcome, erehwon!

One of my favorite STARTLING's, and credited to Alex Schomburg to boot!!!

Isn't this supposed to be Schomburg's first Sci Fi cover.

It seems late since he was doing interior illustrations for several years before and early Experimenter covers too.

I've heard that, too.

It is interesting that the Startling Stories (September 1939) is credited as being his first SF pulp cover and the second is supposed to be the October 1951 Thrilling Wonder Stories. A 12 year lag. (shrug)

I guess he was too busy doing artwork for comics to bother with pulps.

I think this was Schomburg's last SF pulp/digest cover illustration.

I propose we start a Spicy Pulp thread and keep it going with posted scans for the next several years.

That's the best suggestion I've heard all year! (thumbs u
