there was some pricing pull back in 2009 and early 2010...

I picked up some copies as much as 20-30% less than they had just sold for months before, exact copies (not same grade, etc, but same copies).... I am sure folks that paid attention remember

so, I again feel that there will be a slight market pull back/correction...when, obviously I don't know, but I felt it was a good time to divest from my "position" (after all, I treat af 15 as a commodity, just because I don't collect SA, only GA)

that said, at the right price, I will always buy an af15, whether to offer for immediate resale, or to hold till it sufficiently appreciates

I bought mine in 2009 and I'm glad I did. I got a copy I LOVE and doubt that I'd ever be able to afford that same book at these prices.

My guess is outside of metro I have bought and sold more af15 s in the past few years than anyone on the boards ... Over 50 diff copies. I can tell you that 3 months ago I had 11 copies for sale, today I have 2. Right now I am in a sell mode... And will look for a slight dip to buy more. But truthfully might not see that dip for some time to come hm

Wow, I'm impressed! :golfclap:

I wonder if that has anything to do with the higher prices for low grades .The pressability factor of low graded AF 15`s. hm

I had at least 10 of my copies pressed to .5 to 1.0 higher grades... one of them was a 7.0 pressed to a 8.0 (all disclosed at time of sale)...

so, with the price point of an af15 being fairly significant between say a 3.5 and a 4.0, pressing certainly plays into the price paid!

Not bad, but I knew I overpaid by like $500. I wasn't home and asked a family member to put in a $2500 bid for me, and of course they decided to bid more.

Oh, come on. You can admit you got a bit carried away. :baiting:

I can just imagine the reaction from the second highest bidder, though. "WTF? I still didn't win it?"

No, it was definitely my brother that screwed up. I told him to bid $2500, and he apparently got carried away.

I guess that's a lesson. I shouldn't make sure to put my max bid in prior to going anywhere.

Yeah, but its still bothering me. I wouldn't have cared it someone else beat me on it, but my brother had to bid it up. My max was honestly $2500. I was initially ready to pay more, but after hearing from everyone here about how the book might go down, I didn't want to pay too much.

that being said that heritage 5.0 will probably sell fir 13k plus and reach it's peak so no chance to flip but more a private keeper copy unless it is a pressing candidate..........

I hope the Heritage Auction white paged 5.0 bad boy sells for $13k because I have a 5.0 OW-W

Agreed! :) Amazing how even a .5 upgrade can play in this Spider-man market.
