Ironic for me to see Mystic #1 and Submariner #6 back to back. My first Timelys. When I was about 13, I bought about 40 early GA books from a friend of mine’s dad. He owned a pawn shop and they walked in the door. I remember the phone call and the price like it was yesterday. $30. I cracked my bank and borrowed $10. From my mom. Rode my bike over to pick them up.

These were the only two Timelys in the pile. I also remember Batman #17 and All Flash #6. They were all in beautiful shape. Most of them I had never heard of. I traded many of them off for a LOT of ECs and Marvel first issues.

Was the first of many collections to come.

Got a couple back from CGC.

First up is a head-scratcher. I pride myself on being able to spot restoration but I sure missed it on this one. I don't know if it was the trust I had in the source who sold it to me or if I was just in a hurry but you could have knocked me down with a hair from a Badger's best feature when I saw the grade from CGC.(shrug)

Congrats! Apparently the QUICK DRYING CEMENT was employed in reinforcing the centerfold on your MM #60.  :gossip:

As for the unexpected grade bump, well, ...maybe it was graded between Promise books.  Anyway, the latter grade should take the sting outta the former. (thumbsu
