Couple of my old Subbys nice to see they are in a new home . I sold my 32 issue run not long ago to Big B Comics in Ontario Canada most ended up on eBay . Issue 26,28 def were mine . I had lower grade 29 in my PC.

I love them so much.  Thanks for parting with them.  It must have been hard to do so.  I noticed on myslabbedcomics.com when your Sub-Mariner photos disappeared.  At first I got scared for you and thought something dire must have happened to make you sell them, but then I noticed your new Amazing Fantasy #15 (which is lovely by the way)

TBH my dream was to finish the run . Last year I had my first child and I was missing 10 issues . Almost all of which were in first 10 issues of the run . I did some simple math and figured I was at least 60-70K USD away from securing the grades I needed to finish and prices just kept climbing . I couldn’t do it it anymore . The means of getting the books was not there so I decided to cash out .

The AF15 actually was acquired a month after the birth of my child . It was a huge trade where I off loaded a lot of CGC 9.8 copper and modern age books . Timing was everything I managed to get it done before the hammer hit on the big 9.6 auction . I’m leaving that one to my little guy in hopes that 30 years from now he will reap the benefits from it .

Stan Lee signed 'Marvel Comics Strange Tales #106 3/63 My late father left me this before he died, he had it personally signed from Stan Lee at the Chicago Comicon in1977 it was his favorite comics he had as a youngling he purchased in 1951.  He allowed me to read it once and then taped it to make sure I did ruin it, the tape has never been removed since 1977.

Wow!  Good for you.  Thinking along those same lines. Have a real nice collection but might just CGC my best Blonde Phantoms and sell the rest.

Very nice story but the ST 106 is not a Timely :gossip:

Also, did you mean to type that your father bought this copy in 1971? He could not have bought it in 1951 because it wasn’t printed and distributed til Dec 1962

Marvel 5 was for a long time considered one of the most rare Timely issues, it also features a Schomburg Torch cover more reminiscent of pulps. Most of the Larsons are structurally solid but downgrade slightly because of foxing...... but It's the history associated with Larsons that mean so much.

What a great and rare book!

(worship) sartrexpress has an awesome Timely collection! Add Mr.B, John Verzyl, Jr. and your's truly to the mix.

In pursuit of high grade The Four Horsemen have done their best to ravage the Timely landscape. xD
