Yeah, if #9 is a mulligan, it's the best of the non-vignette side bars.

Here is a side by side shot of the two copies I’ve owned. The 4.0 (on the left) had an April 1 arrival date at the top. It’s now in a 4.5 signature series (Stan Lee) cgc slab. I won it raw off eBay in 2000 from the Dentist 🦷, Dave Anderson, for a mere $2,715.00. I foolishly sold it off in 2004 to help fund high grade early FFs 😫 I learned within a year never to do such a thing again 🫣

The 3.0 copy (on the right) is my current copy that I purchased from @G.A.tor at 2016 SDCC. The 3.0 looks somewhat similar to the 4.0 at first glance. I did not plan on taking 16 years to get a copy back, but sometimes that’s how the hobby goes 🤷🏽‍♂️ 🫠

Goodman had Simon change to a round shield in issue 2 to avoid potential legality problems with MLJ’s character, the Shield, who had a triangular shield. Simon, promptly had Cap throw the circular disc in issue 3 to prove that it was better off round than triangular (all this is old news 📰 of course!)

Golden Age hero covers don't get much better than that! This thread makes me want to dedicate my comic book money to collecting Timelys.....But they're just so hard to get!

A side by side of the October and November inside front covers of Marvel 1. Does anyone have a clearer November copy full page scan than this one? I added the publisher's copy at the end of this post. It's interesting that the inside front cover is blank just like the Canadian Marvel Mystery and Captain American Annuals as well as the Canadian Journey Into Mystery Annual from the 1960's. I assume that ads and fillers came at the end of the printing process. If the Marvel Mystery and Captain America Annuals of 1943 were produced or at least distributed in Canada, then why were there no Canadian ads added to those books? Mysterious stuff.

I've been fortunate to be able to pick up some Brazilian comics that were more focused on printing Timely Comics content. This cover may well be a Blonde Phantom splash that was redrawn (I haven't looked yet to see if it matches any of her titles splashes or any from Marvel Mystery). The back cover for this book is outstanding and the image was taken from All Winners #17!!! VERY cool indeed!!!

This cover is a redrawn splash page from the Blonde Phantom story in Marvel Mystery #90. This is the issue where the Blonde Phantom reveals her identity to her boss and love interest. No Timely back cover art on this one, but a cool back cover in it's own right.
