An original owner decided to sell his lifelong collection at a yard sale for $1 each comic. Majority of the time was spent talking with him about every notable comic lol. I left with 6 shortboxes that worked out to $550. I also bought his original Kenner Star Wars loose figures including Boba, Vader and a Vader case. Probably the most fun I’ve had at a sale in a while. He had full runs of Walking Dead, Black Panther, Spawn, Batman, Ghost Rider, X-Men, ASM, etc. These are the highlights

That is a crazy haul, how many comics are we talking about?  I'm surprised a collector would be flushing them out at a buck a piece instead of selling them as runs?

There were about 20 shortboxes laid out on his driveway. Luckily I did buy all of his runs. What’s shown are the highlights. I got full runs of X-Men from 159-316, BP 1-40, WD 7-101, etc. What I didn’t picture is a near full run of Simone Bianchi Batman and Detective Comics covers! That’s a beautiful run that I was stoked to get! And the conditions are high grade

Im saying...he couldve called a few comic shops before giving them away for $1.

It was only 6 short boxes. He must have a tiny office.

He did and he didn't want pennies on the dollar.. and that New Mutants guy also spoke to a local shop about his NM run with Deadpool but the shop wasn't interested in buying his whole run

the sale I went to confused me with another sale I went to a couple years ago.. I thought I was going to that one since it was in the same neighborhood. Had it not been I would have passed as I had scheduled plans for that morning. Turns out I made a great decision to go

For sure, they're out there. Timing is everything. Since we're all fully absorbed in this world of comic collecting, wheeling and dealing, it's difficult sometimes to understand that some people just don't care, they just want the stuff GONE.
