I’ve rescued 3 of those from the dollar bins over the years… They’re still out there.

Got a friend to pop in to check the chap is on the level as seller is interstate - the guy is honest, he has books everywhere - I do the deal. 

Find these 3 in first box. Rest is gravy now.

 

 

 

I have NO idea what those books are but sure like the Bluesie. Reminds me of Crumb.

Completely uncensored reprint of 1939 Tijuana Bibles.....

Other 2 are 1st Warrior Nun (Shannon Masters - Netflix Series - season 2 out later this year - quite good show), and Dr Strange 2 character - 1st Sophia Strange.

No issue #1 sadly - but there was also a #4 with the Ramos Variant cover.

The other 6 boxes were:

2 full of Heavy Metal mags x 110 issues

4 full of Manga / Anime - which I still trying to make some semblance of order out of.

Myth of 8-Opus is a great book, but it's not Kirby. It's Tom Scioli's first work, done in the Kirby style. Basically "Kirby as a genre". I remember buying the issues directly from him at MidOhio Con back in the day. He's gone on to do some cool stuff. I wish I still had those books!

Love the Dirty Pair's, particularly the Timm cover. You don't see that one very often. Not as pricy as the Hughes, but it should be.

I had two copies back when I was an AH completist. Got both of them out of dollar bins. I also paid cover price for the Supergirl/LoSH variant, got it in my holds when it was released. It was smart being an early adopter/completist of Adam's work. Not so smart? Selling all of it looooong before the prices jumped. yeesh.

You are correct, I did mean to change that but forgot - 'in the style of' would be better.

I was suprised to find it over here tbh.

I picked this up from a book sale this morning - Rocket to Luna. Beautiful Schomburg interior splash page and an interesting acknowledgment to Arthur C. Clarke for answering technical questions for the book.
