Wizard World Chicago Comic Con 2010

Just got home, got there early and took off a bit early. There were tons of people there, met alot of really awesome dealers and got some sweet deals on some silver age ASM I needed.

In my haste to get outside for a much needed smoke break, I was looking back for a friend that got lost in the crowd while not paying attention of anything in front of me, I ran smack into ex-gov. Blagojevich and one of his police escorts. They didn't seem to mind getting pushed aside, and it was quite funny to hear the crowd boo him every time they announced his appearance.

Later he went on to block the entrance to the place to take pictures with people, I'm still not sure why he decided to come there, it was all out of place.

WWChicago is kind of a freak show then a comic con. I had to trouble getting through to the dealers because of our ex-con.. I mean gov, well there is more junk booths then artists and comic deals. It took me forever to find Mr. Grell's booth that the Wizard booth couldn't tell me and the maps they had only shows Media Guest and Company booths. My 5yr.old daughter was asking questions about some un-kid friendly superheroes and Barbie images in artist alley and then some other booths that deal with soft-core skin flicks/mags persons. She thinks it is funny because daddy don't want her to see that but she is starting school this week and I don't want her saying anything about what she saw at the con to her teacher or anyone else.

So WWChicago will let anyone with some type of fame show up as long it brings people and gives the con more hype.

I did something completely different at the show this time. Was only there for one day - Friday so after dropping off some books to CGC I decided to hit the artist alley. I went and walked around talked to a bunch of artists and had a blast.

I made a point to only get sketches at this convention and I had the best time ever. Billy Tucci is an awesome guy and he was thrilled to do a Hulk, he said he never did one before so he was happy. Saw alot of awesome artist not to busy. Talked to Mike Champion - you still owe me a Hulk, Chris Fulton, Angel Medina had funny stories about sitting in McDonald's and getting his sketches done, Chris Burnham, Billy Maus, and Kevin Meinert cranked out some awesome stuff for me. All in all different time at the convention than Im used to, and got alot of cool sketches

Having a great time here, as I did at C2E2.

I did my first foray with on-site grading this weekend. Got this back today:

I can vouch for that. Like when he took a steaming dump on a gift I gave Bob Storms because the gift wasn't a high enough grade. :censored:

I can't let it go either, and yes, I too am Italian. th_MaleGangster.gif

PS, now that I know what the soul patch actually drinks, I will never be buying him another.

Have you read his autobiography?

I was sorely disappointed in the number of girls recently awoken from comas present at the show.

She was there, she is now able to walk in an upright position and you musn't have noticed her. As a matter of fact she had a couple of MH Wyatt Earp slabs in her hands. I asked her when she started collecting and she said it was last September after listening to sage advice from a dashing 40something with a cleft in his chin... she thinks his name is Tom :baiting:
