calling to confirm rental van!

You've been confirming that damn van for two months.

Long distance. :gossip:

In his part of Florida, its still largely done by carrier pigeon.

Apparently so:

gotta get my van rented

my rental van is confirmed...not sure my help is though

got to confirm my van...

calling to confirm rental van!

:baiting:

that is just too much effort... but the first heros con, my "confirmed" van was not to be had...and it took an act of God, litterally, that I got one....been nervous about it ever since and every time I rent one (megacon and heroes)

Why not just buy one?

thought about it, but I only do 2 drivable shows a year, so at 350 a week x 2, $700 a year is a lot cheaper than a $20K van lol

Actually, it was quite simple. Took about three minutes. Less time spent than you calling to confirm your van. :baiting:

In addition to our decent selection of SA and GA keys, I might be bringing a few surprises (depends on a certain situation developing)...

Great. Not like the three auctions this week won't leave me penniless already even before the show. :tonofbricks:

Who is planning on going? I know I am.

It is really all I can think about at this point. :cloud9:

The thing about Mega-Con is that its always a great build-up to the show, but because it doesn't deliver in quality of books like a Chicago, or even Heroes, ends up being a bit of a let-down.

Of course, I just go to hang out and pester Gator.

I know all of the negatives about MegaCon not being a proper comics show, George.

They don't matter to me.

Since '99, MegaCon has been my escape from the negatives of life. :cloud9:

Wait till I get there, I'll show you what a true head of hair looks like!

Who's head will you be bringing?

Arse hair. :gossip:

That's not what the Doctor told me when he did the transplant! :tonofbricks:

Chose a 4 star hotel and got the Rosen Centre Hotel across from the convention center for $67 a nite.

That's a pretty good deal.

My $65 bid through Priceline wouldn't stick so I went with Hotwire this time.

That is a fantastic hotel, second only to the Peabody as far as Orange County Convention Center hotels are concerned.

When will I finally try Priceline or Hotwire???

The best things about Mega-Con this weekend:

1). Meeting up with some buddies you haven't seen in a while.

2). The Rueben sandwich at that hotel restaurant across the street.

3). Thumbing through a ton of cool books, even if you don't buy them all.

4). Watching the hardest working man in Comics (Dale Roberts) bring in and set-up his booth in record time. Just watching the man work makes me sweat.

5). Annoying all the other more refined hotel patrons with our geekishness.

6). Seeing what goodies Gator has to offer, and cherishing that expression on his face when he realizes he's run out of Coke Zero.

7). Coming to the conclusion that everyone from the Boards is much more personable in real life then they are in cyberland.

8). Watching Chuck Rozanski work 50-cent book longboxes at the same booth for three days straight.

9). The occasional "overflow" of a pair of breasts that are being forced into a animae costume two sizes too small.

10). Working that impossible deal to bring home a book you've wanted for a long time. :wishluck:
