I am currently reading an anthology of 1982's best sci-fi short stories.

If 1982 was as good for Sci-Fi literature as it was for movies that might be a crackin' good read! Blade Runner, ET, The Thing, Wrath of Khan, Tron, First Blood, Rocky 3, Poltergeist, Conan, Dark Crystal, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Road Warrior....the list goes on and on.....

The Tomb Just picked up the last Repairman Jack book in the series, but he is apparently doing a few prequels to fill in some backstory. Sad to see it end.

I'm devastated :sorry: My favorite series of all time bar none.

I held off reading it (and Nightworld which is really the last Repairman Jack Novel) for a while. I read The Tomb when it first came out. I was in the hospital and a friend brought it to me. I think I've read it 7 times - it's that good. Those of us who read it when it came out actually had to wait nearly 20 years for the 2nd Repairman Jack book. Wilson also did 3 RPJ Young Adult Novels which are actually required reading for the series. They take place when he was 13 and hanging out in the Pines.

Andy - if you need to fill any holes in the grand story let me know. Some are sort of hard to find. I think there are 32 novels and short stories that fit in the grand scheme of things....

Just finished up a Joe Lansdale zombie/cowboy story, read A Purple Place For Dying by John D MacDonald and A Taste For Death by Peter O'Donnell (The first is a Travis McGee novel, the second is a Modesty Blaise novel)

On deck: A Dan Brown my wife just finished, and a new fantasy novel by my ol' minicomics buddy Rachel Hartman, Seraphina. DRAGONS! WOOHOO!

(Oh, and over on the comics side, I just started rereading the SA X-Men series, 1 thru 66. Finished up by buying a nice 12 here on the WTB thread. On deck: My Greatest Adventure/Doom Patrol SA series, 80 thru 121)

I am reading "The Princess Bride." I had no idea it was the same guy who wrote "Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid."

A few days back, I read "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" in a single 40-hour period. Including sleep. It was pretty dang good, IMHO.

In between that, I read the first three "Thieves' World" compilations. I am somewhat of a voracious reader...

I actually haven't been reading comics in a while. I have two weeks worth of new comics on my nightstand I haven't touched. After reading Casino Royale I read Live And Let Die and then started Game Of Thrones, which I'm halfway through. I don't feel burned out on books yet so I'll probably continue with that series until I feel the urge to read more comics.

Head right out and grab the next two "TATTOO" books. Number two was a mild disappointment to me....until I read #3 and realized that they were one big honkin' long novel split into two. All of the sudden all three are way up there on my "reread these soon" list.

Recently finished "My Appetite for Destruction" by Steven Adler (former drummer for Guns N' Roses) and "It's So Easy (and Other Lies)" by Duff McKagan (former bassist for Guns N' Roses). It's amazing the amount of abuse and neglect that the human body can take.

Now I'm reading "Tattoos and Tequila" by Vince Neil (lead singer for Motley Crue). Barely into it.

Just finished reading "Banksy: The Man Behind the Wall" by Will Ellsworth-Jones, an unauthorized biography of the notorious street artist. It's decent enough, though it's all second-hand accounts and third-party research being an unauthorized account.

Currently reading "Hedge Fund Market Wizards" by Jack Schwager, the fourth in the series of "Market Wizards" trader interview books.
