18 GD/VG $480

19 VG+ $980

20 VG+ $875

21 VG+ $750

22 VG+ $525

23 GD $1000

24 VG $475

25 GD+ $240

26 VG $325

27 VG- $300

28 VG $325

29 FN- $1000 (Cosmic Aeroplane copy)

30 FN/VF $675

31 VG/FN $315

32 VG $250

33 VG+ $350

34 VF- $800

38 GD/VG $185

39 FN+ $525

40 FN+ $525

Some of these would still be applicable pricing now, but many would be fine bargains now. I priced them aggressively back then, but they all sold

Could you check again, Bill to see if you still might have The #9, #13, and #16?

lol And check for that Fine+ #12 while you're in the neighborhood, maybe it's still kicking around. I misplace those all the time.

Great set Mike! :applause:

When did you manage to pick up the Action #2? (shrug)

The end of May.

WOW amazing collection. The Action page is super cool considering that is the first apperance of superman. How much would that be worth out of curiosity?

I am not sure. I believe the 5th? wrap sold for $6300 I wouldn't trade the first wrap for it.

Hi all,

I haven't been on these boards for quite awhile, but came across this book this week from a craigslist seller. I was looking for a thread here to get some feedback from about it, and this looks like the perfect group. I tried to check it as best as I could for any restoration, and couldn't find any (not that I am that qualified to spot any). The biggest flaw is that it has a split spine at the top and bottom, although the section between the staples is fine. What do you all think? I thought better to show it here than the "Buddy can you spare a grade" thread.

It looks really nice to me but a little difficult to tell with the cropped scan.

If you could rescan it with a back cover too and leave a good 1/4" or so on all sides, I'm sure we could all give a better opinion.

Also, how much of the spine is split on the top and bottom?

I'd be curious to hear how it was listed or described on craigslist...

Sorry-I am not sure why my scanner cut off the edge-I will try to rescan. This book wasn't one of the books advertised for sale-There were a few boxes of later books (Bronze,Modern and a few Silver) but when i went to see those, the seller mentioned that there were a few older books in a separate suitcase of her father's that she had found. Among those were this book, a Wonder comics #9, a Boy Comic #19 and a Captain Marvel #38.I had to ask her to look again and see if there were any more (unfortunately not). The spine is torn to the staple, top and bottom.

I hope this is a little better.Page color is surprisingly nice, about off-white.No other tears or missing pieces. I am not a Golden Age guy, but I recognize a pretty nice find when I see one.And owning such an early Action is just pretty cool!- Just hope it wasn't trimmed or restored...
