Call him on it and ask for money back. If he says no then screw him.

 

 

It's been at least 4 months since the purchase.

I did contact him. He did respond. That it was color touched. At the time I was somewhat satisfied & thought he made an honest grading mistake & maybe he didn't even know it was restored, but after finding multiple threads on this guy. I'm not happy. Plus I paid to CGC grade it & you know he would want it back. but not pay me for the grading so I let it go.

This is fairly standard practice.

 

I've returned a book after I had it graded (not from these jokers/scammers) as it had resto. I got my money back, but ate the grading fees.

his business model is cracking purple/blue labels, overstating the grade, and selling.

Wow, I unknowingly sold this guy my Detective #140 will full restoration disclosure including 1 corner piece replaced and a very accurate app 7.0 grade and he just relisted it last week as light color touch only and a 9.0!!! WOW what a scammer! Funny thing is, he has such a bad rep, the auction ended and he still lost a little bit of money from the price he paid me! HA HA HA :roflmao: Serves him right!

 

What really pissed me off is I lost a last second auction house bid on a cgc mod restored G/VG Detective #38 a few weeks ago and now he is selling it on ebay as a raw slightly restored mid grade!!! doh!

 

What a Jerk! I wanted to keep that book for my collection! :( I hope he loses money again, although I almost want it for myself as that should have been my book and at least I know what grade it really is and what restoration was really done to it! However, I would hate to ever deal with this scum bag and would probably rather see hims lose money again as his bad rep continues get out there to the masses!

 

I believe in good karma, so I am confident at least some day his deeds will come back to hit him like a ton of bricks! :tonofbricks:

a crook when it comes to comics graded 9.0+, sure. i've only won 3 auctions from him, average grade of the comics 7.0-8.0, and i don't see any evidence that they've been altered. i can see not buying from him on principal, but sometimes it's nice to get some cheap comics.

I'm sure you'd also be quite happy dealing with rapists and child pornographers so long as their books were cheap and they hadn't actually raped you.

 

I hope every book you've bought from him is actualy restored.

I have been reading the boards for a while, Joined last year, but I do see lots of people get treated wrongly from people on this forum. If I could I would say this in person. I have a strong back bone, and confident in what I say and or do.
