That crazy Joe Kubert. It looks like I found another cover swipe or at the least one that pays serious homage to another.

Kubert is swiping/homaging himself?

 

Wonder if he did the second cover even remembering his first cover (or did he just think "what can I do cool with a scuba diver..." and then he though of the same idea he had 22 years earlier but with ghosts in the reflection instead of nazis...

 

or he was asked to do a cover, couldnt think of something and then went back thru his old idea/sketch book and saw the roughs of the OFF cover...

 

either way its funny to see reused ideas

hm What would be worse, having three nazi frogmen gunning for you or three skeletal mermaids?

 

now that I look closely those Nazi's don't have spear-guns or even knives... maybe they are just inviting our diver to a beachside picnic after some diving?

Thanks that WW 13 is exactly what i was looking for (worship)

 

Anyone know of anymore? Must be some horror books or something? This is the only other one i know
