Ditto with this one.  Seems to be in pretty good shape for a PSA 2 (not that I have any clue as to how cards are graded :)).

Thats what you get for stealing a piece of cheese

I won that card for $3.25.  I imagine that must be less than the cost of having it graded.

Ger might have conflated two stories but his description in my mind match the Guard Duty story you linked to. However, I have in my mind another story where the soldier gets caved in and then might decide to shoot himself when he hears the enemy dig in his direction. You best bet of course would be to contact Ger directly. Since it seems tough to contact him via the blog, send him a message on eBay - His ID there is simply gerapeldoorn

@Scrooge Do you know the name of this tale, any creator credits, its issue's cover date, or what title it was from?

You are correct Squegg,.... it cost  at least around $5.00 a card to be graded with a 25 card minimum, you got a nice looking card -CHEAP!

A  wealthy Doctor who is also a leading non -sport card collector mentioned that it was not the high grade that lured him to collecting (although he did collect high grade) but the completion of sets

he mentioned that he could not tell the difference between a psa 8 or 9 without a magnifying glass

Sadly, no. I looked through some scans I have to see if I could find it ... but no luck. I can still see the panel I remember with the soldier in the cave-in looking at his girl's photo while musing on what to do but no luck turning up from what book it came from.

Odd, how CGC got #72 labeled as a Salida but completely missed #80 and 83. They are very clearly identified. Makes me wonder how good they are at identififying Pedigrees... West would have never missed this.  Who is in charge of that process now?
