If any Bunn title deserves more hype it's the sixth gun which has flown under the radar until 29 issues in. Seems like the more publicity a title gets before release the worse it does on the secondary market. Of course there are exceptions, but it seems a ton of Image #1 titles flop after people talk them up before release on these boards.

 

Bunn's a great writer and he's done some wonderful stuff for Marvel too!

Yeah, I am pretty excited to try out more of his stuff. Same with Matt Kindt after reading the first arc of Mind MGMT. Good reads will do that to you!

I moved my unsold Batman #6's to eBay (had a few left that didn't sell here on the boards) and 2 of them sold w/in an hour of listing (BINs of $11.99 +sh and $12.99 + sh) and another sold the next day at $12.99 BIN + sh. I am still finding these for less than cover price in decent qty / condition.

You might not know this because you only joined three months ago. But this thread use to be about modern books heating up on ebay.

 

Look at the past 200 pages. You'll come to the same conclusion.

 

I'll put my secretary right on it, she should have a conclusion within the next 200 pages.

There is a lot of truth in this comment over the past 6 months.

Of course we want comics to blow up. If there's money to be made who cares how it happens? Someone could sprinkle magic fairy dust on Blackacre #1 transforming it into a 50.00 book and we will all sprint to the Comic Hut ready to buy at cover and flip that night to foolish buyers in the marketplace.

There is a lot of truth in this comment over the past 6 months.

Of course we want comics to blow up. If there's money to be made who cares how it happens?

Beware the disillusionment that follows if the 'blow up' is not based on merit, and the greater fool theory comes into play.

Image thought people wanted to buy 5.99 trade paperbacks with their top selling issues.

 

it didn't take off as much as the single dollar issues, probably because people want a full story from a tpb and not a sampler.

 

I'm not 100% if they are out of print or not.

Also previews heating up is so odd to me.. Anyone know the highest sale on recent previews within last couple years?

 

There is a Blackacre thread probably on the second page. There are some fans. Ryan's podcast has someone who doesn't like it. I like Clone more, but we will see how it goes. As far as eBay it isn't heating up yet. It is climbing which I think is better. You saw PP 9 and NWM 9 sales drop the day after release.

 

Like 2 weeks ago previews issues like Morning Glories 14, 3 Story, whatever else were big on eBay and now they're dying off. But apparently Previews January 2012 sells for like $30 on the boards. And someone was selling TWD Previews on eBay and it went for $100ish (?) maybe.
