Looks like the Marvel Zombies Vol.1 Sets are taking off again. A few months ago you could buys these sets on eBay for around $20 to $30!!

 

Now they're starting to sell for around $70 to $100 + Shipping on eBay.

I'm sorry but I have to respectfully disagree ... Marvel struggles and as much as I like the Ultimate Spiderman, there isn't much else that Marvel is publishing that I enjoy.

I think you would be able to find this one for $90 or so. $150 seems excessive.

 

1st prints can be found for $20-30 on ebay. a 2nd print shouldn't run more than $10-15

 

Not a chance ... 2nd prints of #33 have always been pricier than the 1st prints; the last three raw 2nd prints that were on eBay fetched $60, $75 and $130.

 

The $150 BIN that's up there now is mine - I'm actually 80% confident I'll get the asking price :grin:

 

The person that listed the $130 book has come on this forum (in this thread or the WD thread) to let everyone know that the book did NOT sell at that price. So...highest recorded sale thus far is $90 (with the vast majority at $60 or less).

Awesome. Now I need to find my set (which I paid $15 for after the hype had died down) and the issues of Ult FF where they first appeared (which I think I paid $2 each for, one regular cover, 1 variant) and I can maybe pay my cable bill this month!

Dang, I've never been able to get the Marvel Zombies Vol. 1 books for cheap. Only V.2 , hope those go up in prices too soon.

 

I'd be surprised if that happened as I'm pretty sure I fished a couple of sets of volume 2 out of the dollar and less boxes, which usually means a ton were ordered. MZ Vol. 1 was a surprise hit I think and at least the first couple of issues were underordered.

I'm still shocked that many dealers don't know whats up. I bought 3 sets today of 1 and 2 ToT's plus a first print of Fatale 1, all for cover. I've gotten 5 sets (of 1 and 2) from them in 3 days, all for cover.

 

I consider to be friends with them and I'm considering giving them a set back for free.

 

They asked me why so many, and I told them I was doing a trade for the BW cover.

 

I felt bad. :P

Like I've said, dealers eventually figure it out, but usually its too late. I picked up 5 copies of ToT #2 and 3 of ToT #1 (2nd print), and 3 copies of Saga #1 for cover price today.

My point still stands that there is a bigger market out there for heist/crime fiction than there is Zombies. It is just down to quality, Walking dead has been a fantastic success because of its quality and I think Thief of thieves could be just as big if not bigger because of the larger audience for heist/crime fiction.

 

I agree about heist/crime fiction movies/TV being a bigger market than zombies movies/TV. It has a more broad appeal. But, let's not forget we are talking about comic books here. I think your zombie fans are going to be more inclined to pick up a comic book than your heist/crime fiction fans. I'm speculating the 10-15 years of constant zombie comics is due to the zombie movie crowd crossing over and buying comics. There is no heist/crime fiction comic trend to suggest that fans of a heist/crime fiction TV/movie would buy comics.

They said they make enough money off the regular prices, they're happy to sell it for cover, because it gets people through the door knowing they'll be able to find their copies of anything for cover.

 

Makes some sense to me.

 

They do however, sell some copies on eBay, everything new in the store however, stays at cover.
