Secret Wars 8 was released twice in Brazil. The one you have posted is the later release, which I could see a 9.4 for. Still impressive though. This is my earlier release Brazilian. The staples are what makes the grades so tough.

Once I sold a copy in quite good shape through Ebay. I wonder if is that one? I also acquired another copy in quite good shape two days ago. The first print suffers from spine splits, as most thin Brazilian comics.

Mine was purchased along with the rest of the run from a Facebook group member directly in Brazil. The rest of the run is in the same great shape. No spine splits on this one. I had a cgc 3.0 that I sold on ebay after upgrading to this copy.

One of my favourite 70's Superman covers celebrating 40 years of Suplement Juvenil :)

Original cover art for the US Superboy 81 main story.

Original cover art for....what? could be US Superboy 107. First story in this one is from Superboy 99, but BR Superboy 64 has an original cover art for it. Will have to check carefully when I chart it on Gdc. Note how tanned Superboy it is: Must have spent some time on beach :P

Question:  Why is this labeled as Super Comics (nn)?

I know that Super Comics & Three Ring Comics covers are variations of PEP 22.  But if CGC is not going to put the "Three Ring Comics" as the Name on the label, why would they put Super Comics and not PEP?

I know the inner contents of this comic are completely different than PEP22, but I have no idea what the contents of Super Comics are.

This book falls under CGC's unilaterally agreed 'Foreign Editions' category....

https://www.cgccomics.com/international-comics/

...which says:

"This classification is assigned to international comics that feature a cover to which a US counterpart exists but is not a facsimile"

Your UK destined Three Ring Comics shares its cover with the US original Pep Comics #22 and is not a facsimile of it:

33402.jpg.17831dacd76f69377b10d7da31df7c85.jpg 926994.jpg.60bb1f16dbffc9758cfd5b07d77feb89.jpg

So it's a 'foreign edition' in CGC's book. Further into their webpage wording, it says that CGC "classifies and labels foreign editions by the title and issue number of their US counterpart"

In this case, the US cover counterpart is Pep #22. Super Comics is the Canadian (cover) reprint of Pep #22. Three Rings and Super Comics may share the British flag cover star suit (see below), but both derive from the US suited Pep original:

259878.jpg.468845f44ca0507fe9064b405b7b9a44.jpg926994.jpg.60bb1f16dbffc9758cfd5b07d77feb89.jpg  = 33402.jpg.17831dacd76f69377b10d7da31df7c85.jpg
Canadian Distribution                             UK Distribution                                               US Original

So two mistakes then, here - a poorly conceived, misleading, over engineered original labelling strategy and a subsequent operational failure to follow it.

I love the actual comic though - that 9d sticker is divine :cloud9:

If I'm going to have a mis-labelled label.... I'd rather have the Pep 22

I appealed the labeling and CGC is going to change my title to "PEP COMICS 22".

Still seems strange but I have to say, I don't mind having that title on my label.
