The "TRUTH" about CAF

258 posts in this topic

It should be quite clear by now that a small group of caf members have quite large and distorted egos, this I believe is due to the power given to them via the caf site, these caf members go un-checked and un-challenged, if anyone stand up to them or questions them then that person gets the treatment, gets ganged up on, what are they so afraid of being exposed, the quality of their character is seen in their postings and their words prove the point I’m making perfectly.

I apologise on behalf of all Australian comic art collectors and comic art dealers (in fact I think I'm the only Aussie comic art dealer) for the postings/ravings from this absolute drop-kick!

Having been a member of Comicart-L and CAF since their (did I get that right?) inception, I know the owners of both sites/groups very well and am confident in their integrity and professionalism.

As Malvin and others have surmised, this is in all probability, Richard Rae/Vince Greck who was banned from CAF for his fraudulent practices. Richard/Vince please don't embarass yourself any further.

I am not a CAF member, but I note that Richard Rae's account still seems to be there - i.e. I can see his profile etc. Here's a link.

Does the "digital fingerprint" remain when one is banned over there?

I am pretty sure this is Board Member "Mr Rae" as a shill - but before asking mods to check IP addresses I'd like to eliminate one nagging doubt.

Mate, I'm guessing that the CAF Mods left Richard's account active because, while it's most likely that Richard Rae and Vince Greck (and Captain Australia) are one and the same, it's yet to be confirmed.

As a result, the CAF Mods left Richard's account in place while deleting the Vince Greck account (due to fraudulent pieces being offered for sale there as well as the lifting of a piece from Terry's CAF). However, if Richard's account becomes active again and is used to promote the sale of fraudulent pieces then I wouldn't be surprised if it was also suspended/deleted. Warm regards,

Royd

Hahahahaha, I do handle the sale of Nicola Scott's original comic art and she's presently illustrating Earth 2!! Thanks for the segue :)

There is no subject you delusional, demented, wombat!! No one believes you or shares your opinion! This is my last post in this thread because I don't wish to waste any more time dealing with your nonsense *sigh*

"in fact I think I'm the only Aussie comic art dealer", I don't think so Royd, but if you are you must live in some other Australia on Earth 2, please stick to the subject, it's important.

Attempted bullying, threatening, intimidation, as you can see.

Where's Arex?

I hear he has a bunch of wood and nails in his back yard that he could donate for the cross you're attempting to build.

No I think he is talking about CAF members having (there their they're) clothing removed against (there their they're) will. He is continuously talking about CAF members being bared and above he also mentioned seams instead of seems.

So here is what is going on:

CAF members are having (there their they're) clothing ripped at the seams and it seems (there their they're) clothing is falling off making them bared barring any re-clothing.

I would be outraged (to two too 2).

Please choose the most appropriate word inside all parenthesis to complete the above sentences. Thank you.

How did he ever achieve the rank of captain?

Isn't there some sort of written exam involved?

Someone has to be able to carry the most donuts.

OK, Bill Cox told me to post these responses, because he is not a forum member:

"The "Australian" was sent a $50 payment by me on August 23, 2012 as means of a refund for their premium services. Not prorated, a full refund. A "refund" via Paypal was not possible because of the length of time that had passed since the premium payment was made. The "Australian" should review their accounting practices.

Regarding the other gentleman that was posting such pornographic images that I finally had to remove them from the site. I refunded 4 years of their premium payments as well as several months of banner advertising that they had done almost 2 years prior to shutting down their account.

When we are forced to remove member accounts on CAF - and these two instances are the only time that has had to happen - and the person was also a paid member, we always return those payments in full, and in the case of the pornographer, even more than we should.

Thanks,

Bill

and this second note:

"Normally I would not share my personal email to anyone in a public forum, but I think it's worth knowing how I handle situations, so no one thinks I'm heavy handed or taking cues from some "inner circle" of CAF members on how to handle things at CAF.

Regarding the "Australian" and his account. At first I only asked that he remove the questionable piece from his account even though several members (I guess my inner circle) demanded I shut him down entirely.

My email to him:

V****, When you have a piece of art like this that you're misrepresenting (whether knowingly or not), it makes CAF look very bad. I do not want the sale of this piece of artwork to reflect poorly on my site when the buyer finds out this artwork has no pencils by S******** on it, so I would like you to remove it from CAF today or clarify in your description that there are no S******** pencils on this piece of artwork. Thank you. Bill Cox (site owner)

He ignored my request, and went out and posted artwork from another collector's gallery into his gallery, and listed it for sale. It was at this time, on 8/23/2012, that I emailed the "Australian" via CAF and let them know that I was both shutting down his account for abusing the site in that manner, and that I was also refunding his premium payment.

My email that day:

V****, As a result of this poor behavior of yours, selling fake artwork, battling other members on my site and listing artwork you don't own as for sale just to be an , I'm shutting down your gallery and refunding your premium payment. You are no longer welcome on my website. -Bill Cox (site owner)

hmmm... been a CAF member for a solid decade, never had a problem, never got bullied. I post pages, inquire about buying pages, and have even sold some pages...

wonder what you've done differently that's enraged other CAF members....

so far the only details I can suss out are that there were some CAF members that either A) didnt like the content you were posting or B) didn't like the way you were representing the content you were posting... and this was exacerbated by the fact that you were trying to sell said content.

Was the complaint that you were pricing things to high or to low? Since people can sell for whatever they want, I wonder if the larger issue was the art itself and how it was being represented at large.

Can you provide some detail about what you were selling and the specific problems they had with your listing of the art?

CAF in their guidelines seems to be pretty explicit in that they have the right to take down art w/o notification if it does not meet guidelines. Should they refund your money for a paid account? If you were misusing your account (say to misrepresent art that you were selling, or posting art that did not belong to you) they could argue that you forfeited your right to the account due to miss-use, but I don't see anything in their guidelines about membership fees, so you may want to ask for a refund. Have you done that? What was their response?

If you really just want to post your art there are plenty of other places to do that...

-Charlie
