The Less Blob
Am I missing something here? Hulk 181 $1200 was the reserve. Smells fishy. $1200 is $100 less than I paid in 2013 for a 9.0. It came from a smoke free home.
The Less Blob
With that said, $1300 for a 9.0 looks very low right now, just perusing ebay. For the same price they could have gotten a 6.5, albeit one with a bunch of scribbles on the cover: http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Incredible-Hulk-181-CGC-SS-6-5-Signed-3x-With-Rare-Head-Sketch-/141563056797?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20f5d0d29d or a 5.0 for $300 less: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MARVEL-INCREDIBLE-HULK-181-CGC-5-0-0232610016-1ST-APPEARANCE-OF-WOLVERINE-/231467745138?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35e48d7f72 a 5.5 for $450 less: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Incredible-Hulk-181-1st-full-Wolverine-CGC-5-5-OW-WHITE-Pgs-/311260005919?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item48788ac61f or a 6.0 for at least $200 less: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Incredible-Hulk-181-Cgc-6-0-First-Appearance-Wolverine-/171649239210?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item27f71788aa True, with auctions adding another bidder could have created very different results, so you can't assume they would have been able to get it for $2 more than the final bid or whatever. Do they think that massive crease can be pressed out or something? Even if it can be, the book is still probably only a 6.0 at best.
vaillant
$1200 for a VG+ is absurd anyway… I could understand a FN+ or better given the constant hotness of the book, but that price…
Lonzilla
Is there a reason for which you thinking of Abnett (Dan Abnett I suppose)? The only one which I would find acceptable to "end" Omega's story is Mary Skrenes, now that Steve Gerber is no longer here. I understand it might sound strange but I quite like the fact that Omega ends abruptly and we do not know what actually happened (is he dead? and James Michael?) That somewhat added to the qualities of the series, IMO – I read it when I was 11 (the same age of J.M.) for the first time and it is one of my favorite Marvel (short) series ever. Was thinking Abnett just from what he did with GOTG and his appreciation for obscure characters that maybe he'd like to see something done with Omega (*my pick for Star-Lord's father in GOTG2 *cough cough*) To be honest, I don't see Mary Skrenes ever spilling the beans about what her and Gerber's plans were. I was 9-10 years old when OTU originally ran and it was one of my favorite books then, it still is. Cheers to you and others who had good taste at a young age too (thumbs u

Not that there won't be or shouldn't be ethnic diversity in the movies, there definitely should be. But having an essentially African Wonder Woman named Nubia...too on the nose I think. divad
blatant self-promoter WADR, I disagree for two reasons. First, and foremost I really don't care what others think of me. I am confident in who I am and what I do. Second, the book has sold already. (It's not like I have a stack of these to pump and dump.) I am just sharing what I think, is useful market information.
