Hard to find a 9.8 in any SS, however, no matter the issue.

Do you mean from DKR #1 through #4? Or "any SS" (copper age) book?

It's definitely true for DKR.

4,600 copies graded, only 100 are SS (any grade, half are #1) and only 28 are SS 9.8 (11 are #1).

DKR.

I have a #1 Miller 9.8 SS and a #4 Jansen 9.8 SS, and it took me years to find them.

Still looking for a #2 and a #3 in 9.8 Yellows....

Hot book that is finally getting its due after years of being idle. Hulk 324. Of course there is movie speculation involved but I have always thought this book should be worth more than it was.

WTF? Wow, that book exploded. What's the deal? Just because of the stupid Hot Topic figure recall?

Peace,

Chip

I honestly would feel that Hulk 377 would be the one to explode, have a feeling we may see this version sooner than we think.

Why is #324 heating up? because of the grey hulk (savage) appearance? Whats Hulk #1 then if people are saying #324 is first "grey hulk" (shrug)

1ST MODERN GREY HULK .....

People do not understand what the marketplace in the late 90s was like - eBay was an arbitrage dream. You could buy books at shows and flip them almost instantly for 100-300% profit easily. And, conversely, you could do the same by buying something on eBay and moving it at a show.

eBay in the late 1990s was the wild wild west. It was awesome and scary at the same time. The end came from CGC and just volume. Hard to be the frontier when everyone moved in.

It was arbitrage heaven. I remember the late 90's and even early 2000's being a time when you could not only do as you've stated but you could buy collections using ebay and remarket them a couple of weeks later for very great returns. T

Don't even get me started on buying DVDs from Columbia House and selling them on Ebay and clocking fat stacks '99-'02. HTF DVDs, Criterion collection discs, etc. It was easy money.

So True. I made a lot of money off out of print dvds like Salo and Last of the Dogmen.

Awesome flick I watch at least once a year if I can.

It's a very underrated flick and it's out of print!

It was a very good time to buy books for 25 cents - $1 and then sell them on ebay for $3-$7. not a good time to get guide or even half guide for better stuff unless you were maybe zillaf or someone like that. market was totally irrational. nobody trusted any grading. shipping was cheap. i think the fees were lower. a lot more shilling and sellers leaving retaliatory feedback. more outright scammers with no paypal protection.

not just comics, all sorts of krap. i would make $500-$1000 a month selling comics, but most of it came from just fishing records, books and various periodicals out of the recycling and trash in my apartment building (which had over 600 units). seriously, my gay neighbors would toss their various gay-oriented magazines like the advocate (not porn!) out in the recycling, i would fish them out and sell them for more than cover price on ebay! (i atually think there was a big market for gay oriented stuff for people in topeka or wherever who didn't want to be seen subscribing to these magazines or buying them in the newstand). my building had a "book dump" where people left their unwanted books and you have no idea how many first editions I would fish out of there (I lived in a building with lots of readers and people in publishing) as well as unused textbooks! $50-$80 a pop, cha-ching! and records -- if it was something oddball from the 60s or 70s it was an easy $7-$10. my wife would go to marketing parties and mini-events at places in NYC and grab swag bags and made a ton of mad money selling the swag and cosmetics (strangely, often to guys) and what not. we went to a LAMBDA dinner (which my old firm paid for) and we grabbed like 15 "Queer as Folk" travel coffee mugs they were giving away and promptly blew them out at $20-$30 a pop on ebay! ahhh, good times, and heck, i didn't even need the money then, i had a good job, low housing costs and no kids.

Isn't the Grey Hulk from #1 actually a retcon which took place after #324 though? It was always my understanding that they pretended he was green in the first issue(in subsequent reprints, Origins of Marvel Comics for instance, he was colored green instead of his original grey), and it wasn't until later that they fit the whole Grey Hulk concept into the multiple personality storyline.

#324 probably deserves the credit for the differences in approach concerning the portrayal of the Grey Hulk.

At first I read LAMBDA as NAMBLA; a bad mistake to make.

No, no, NAMBLA does not have fancy benefits at fancy NYC spots as far as I know. I am not gay (neither is my wife as far as I know), but the LAMBDA folks throw a good party ...good food, booze and swag. I am always game for free stuff and, at the time, there were not enough openly gay lawyers at the firm to even fill half the table, so there were lots of extra seats.

He was grey in the '62 #1 issue because of a printing ink problem. In #2 he is green, he was never intended to be grey. #324 is the first true grey hulk.

That's just what a great character Hulk is. His biggest, most key moments ever are when he randomly changes color.

:eyeroll:

Actually, I think his greatest, key moments come when he teams up with small, feisty, woodland creatures like wolverines or raccoons.

For me, the overlooked key that always mattered was IH #205. It was my ASM #121 when I was a very little kid. In fact, I still have the tattered, well-loved copy that I received for my 5th birthday.

A child shouldn't have to know of such pain at that young age.

I believe #4 has already gone up some.

Checking.

Im betting that the entire series will go up.. But percentage wise probably more so with #2-4..

#3 - is the death of Joker - can be had for under 10$.. Wouldnt be surprised if it will be a 30-40 book after the superbowl and more so as we get closer to movie release date
