Tell you the truth, I don't remember. I was thinking of giving it another shot, since most people I know dug it.

 

Give it a try. Then if you still don't like it, at least you will know why.

I was checking ticket availability for the midnight show at a local AMC and an ad there said the movie was 87% on twitter.

Can anyone confirm this?

Not as good as the TDK movies, but not too far from them.

I read a review today where the reviewer said that Superman is from Iowa.... IOWA! I am sorry if you are so uninformed about Superman that you think that he is from Iowa, then your review is worthless to me. The problem with critics is that they review EVERYTHING. I think critics should be specialists like doctors. I wanna read a Superhero/action films review on Superman. I don't understand the reviews where they are complaining about all the destruction and CGI. Um hello ITS SUPERMAN! a) he flys b) what do you want him and Zod to do, sit there and have a reasoned discussion? Hell no! I want to see them punching each other through buildings! Kneel Before ZOD! 1 more hour!

Completely agree. The movie was amazing! Tsp99 and I saw an early screening with Comicparadox and we LOVED it. Stupid Rottentomatoes, makes me want to throw rotten tomatoes at them! :makepoint:

To anyone who has yet to see this movie, I recommend throwing out the reviews from Rottentomatoes.

Glad I went to go see it this evening, but I would have to rank the movie as disappointing overall. Sadly, the cast was nearly note perfect, and had there been a better told story, this could have been the best Superman to date, I believe. Don't get me wrong, seeing Superman stomp somebody was pretty cool, but enough already. I found the preoccupation with action and destruction a detriment.

 

Strangely, I wasn't impressed with the effects. Figured that would be a strength.

 

The good news is that the cast was great, and much like the recent Star Trek, I left the theater thinking that the best was yet to come.

Totally agree. I gave it a 7/10, and looking back, I think I ranked it a bit too high. It was mediocre at best.
