To be fair to the seller, I feel much better about the choice of packaging now that I found *this* written under the mailing label. You can't make this stuff up!

I've been going through my GA books lately and was reminded of a few holes in my Cole collection. Just got this one for a decent price.

:x  It’s kind of ironic that just about the only reason LB Cole books are collected are for their covers. And yet, so many have overlooked his excellent funny animal covers for years…

Hilarious.  Kind of :I  But all's well that ends well, nice get!

I got a large slick magazine yesterday minus any backer in a straight up plastic bag that did not fare nearly so well.  The picker knew they had a nice one but zero clue on how to keep it from getting dinged or folded in the mailbox.  Ended up with big dings/folds to both other corners.  The books can withstand the ravages of time but not the ravages of insufficiently_thoughtful_persons or my mailman. :boo:

It's been awhile since I rolled the dice on an ebay gamble. This book came from a 0-feedbacker, seemingly determined to keep that status by shipping this in a bubble envelope with no protection (after promising a sturdy padded box). (shrug) Nevertheless,

Looks like everything turned out ok, and it's a pretty sweet copy too.  Congrats on a win!  ^^

They just look so good.#45 bottom right is about my favorite from the series.

Well I got this in yesterday. I'm happy with the color strength. I give it 8/10. I was concerned about the thing on her lower lip until I saw they are all like that.

#45 is a great cover.  I showed it to my wife and her eyes just about popped out of her head as there's so much going on with all of that color.  You may be able to see the chip out of the bottom.  It's the best copy I could find after looking for years, and I've yet to see a better one.  I'm sure they are out there, maybe in people's collections I'm not sure.  However I'd put a lot of these funny animal books up with just about any other in finding really nice copies.

Maybe it's that kids got a hold of them and messed them up.  Jeez...  didn't people realize that comics aren't for kids?  What's wrong with people?  :nyah:

That's a great looking TTLR 23 - CONGRATS!  I'm still waiting on my copy's grade - it's killing me!

No I can't see the chip. I have none of that series but to me with those books condition wouldn't be top priority, just nice mid grade or better with strong colors would make me happy. Clean and colorful.
