that PPSS 9.8 is a puzzler...i get one stinking faint spine break and get knocked to a 9.6.

 

I'm with all the haters... that 9.8 on the PPSS is

no wonder books go from 6.0 to 7.0 to 6.0 not trimmed, trimmed, not trimmed....really makes me start to wonder whats going on behind the scenes at CGC after that debacle and seeing the grades in this thread now..

Yup, 9.4 here as well. Top and bottom right front corners blunted, a few ticks on the spine. I dunno no more???

 

And yeah. the Avengers comic? That's a tough one to swallow.

2 bulls eyes here ...the B+B and the 9.8...started the AV at7.0...thought maybe they'd grade it as similar to a Marvel chip...shoved it to a generous 8.0...9.2 eh...

I gave that one a 6.0. That's seven grades off the mark for a big-time technical foul.

AVE 5.0 (I apparently don't know how to grade a book with a missing corner)

PPSS 9.4

X-MEN 8.5

I felt so as well...my first inclination was to go 1.5 and split the difference/cover all the 1-bases. Then I thought since the grading scoring doesn't reward the .3 off thought I'd better go for the bullseye...

 

After I submitted my grades I cruised around on ebay and some other sites...looked at 1.0s...1.5s...1.8s...hard to get a bead on these at that grade. The issues are so all over the map that it gets tough to differentiate exactly what is making the book the bump up or the bump down. And that's just it, these books have so many issues it's a bit of a -shoot, even for CGC as to what grade to settle on...
