I hope you guys are right. He looks too much like a Wuss for my taste.

 

Because Chris Pratt was always a jacked action star...

 

I don't need a guy to be jacked to like him. He just has a wussy quality to him on top of that his eyes freak me out. I like the classic dark bad spoon quality Dr. Strange has. They will have to add that in because it is not natural like it would be for other actors

 

It would be like casting a non blue eyed blonde for Thor imo.

 

On the other hand Marvel is banking on this guy having crossover appeal with his other roles. Could be worse and be Keannu (shrug)

I think Cumberbatch would have been the perfect actor to play Namor (maybe he still is...) But, I think he has the acting chops to pull off Dr. Strange as well.

 

Coincidentally, I found out about the Dr. Strange casting last night just before watching Cumberbatch play The Monster in a limited broadcast of the National Theatre's "Frankenstein" (with Jonny Lee Miller as Dr. Frankenstein). He's definitely got the acting chops ("The Monster" was a very physical and challenging role), and he's in excellent physical shape. I think he'll do well as Dr. Strange.
