Today, while filming his upcoming Marvel movie in New York City, the 39-year-old Sherlock star decided to pay an unexpected visit to a local comic book shop, JHU Comic Books, and even posed for a photo.

How'd you like to be at that store and then turn around for a big surprise?

His cape looks like a prop not something someone would actually wear. Villain looks like standard type 2 villain. There's type one the smirking cocky villain and type 2 the grim uber powerful humorless villain.

It looks like either he was shown something so powerful that it eroded his eyes or there's some shiny (scaly?) purple guy behind his face.

Always imagined Nightmare had some sort of iridescent quality, but who knows? Maybe they're servants of Dormammu?

I'm really excited about this film.

I think audiences will respond well to the concepts, especially the Ditko motifs, of which I hope there are plenty.

I believe it will do well at the Box Office.

+1

This is the strength of the Marvel Universe. They have many, more characters to draw from, unlike DC which is basically Batman,Superman and Wonder Woman.

People actually wear capes? In the real world?

Like at the opera?

I think we should all start wearing capes. Maybe we can make it a trend, like hipsters did with man-buns and lumbersexual plaids.

Mindless Ones. :cloud9:

Why is Strange running? Can't he levitate? (shrug)

Perhaps it's early in his training hm

Maybe the cape he's wearing is just a non-magical one, and he doesn't have the levitation cloak yet. (Perhaps having the Cloak of Levitation might cause a Giant Eagles type plot hole?)

'Would' actually wear.

It just doesn't look like it is a worn item but a prop item if that makes sense. I used to do theater and costumes have a certain look. Whereas something actually worn, looks different.

I'm a little confused as to what you mean by what is worn vs. prop, because he definitely is wearing it and doing stunts in it rather successfully.

In terms of how it looks... Well, it is a comic book movie after all. hm Do you judge Cap for carrying a shield around simply because normal people wouldn't do that? Dr. Strange is meant to essentially look like a highly imposing magician.

Unrealistic, you're right about that. But straight out of the pages of the comic? Absolutely.

I asked these two guys about wearing capes and they said it was cool.

The weird guy behind them kept muttering Martha, Martha, Martha.
