everything can change in a month when BvS comes out. according to Geoff Wonder Woman is near the end of filming and their going to start with Justice League soon. so i can see them move WW up to March and JL to June or July and maybe they finally annouce the batman movie and MOS2.

You could be right. Especially if BvS comes out strong, as is expected. This could motivate Warner to move a few projects forward.

And we could also see that Lobo movie come out of brainstorm hell that it has been in for a few years now. And a New Teen Titans movie.

Zombieland sequel isn't quite dead yet

In a recent interview on The Q&A Podcast, DEADPOOL writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who also penned the first ZOMBIELAND, were asked about the state of any more ZOMBIELAND, and apparently the idea isn't totally dead yet.

'It’s actually still in development at Sony, they’ve had a couple writers take a crack at it, we’re still exec producers and we’re guiding and helping where we can and I think there’s still very much talk about it, but I think it has to be right,' said Reese. 'I think all the actors and Ruben [Fleischer], all feel like there’s no reason to do it again if we’re not getting it exactly right.'

Only if it can match the comedy of the first movie.

Fox Announces Two Untitled Marvel Movies, Is One A Deadpool Sequel?

Fox announced release dates of October 6, 2017 and January 12, 2018 for untitled Marvel films. Which one of those dates is likely for the Deadpool sequel? We're guessing that a Deadpool sequel might claim the January 12, 2018 release date, because of another piece of news that Fox announced.

Gambit had originally been scheduled for release on October 7, 2016, but Fox has canceled that release date for the film. It was widely predicted that Gambit would get delayed, since the film went through a change in director and has yet to start filming. Gambit is expected to start filming in New Orleans in March of this year. The October 6, 2017 release date would seem like a realistic new release date for Gambit.

'Spider-Man' Spinoff 'Venom' Revived at Sony (Exclusive)

Now that Sony has set Spider-Man on its rebooted path, the studio is setting its sights on other Spider-Man franchises. Case in point: Venom.

Sony has tapped Dante Harper to pen a -script for Venom, something that is being envisioned as a franchise apart from and unrelated to the upcoming Spider-Man movie in the works with actor Tom Holland.

Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach, among stewards of the Spider-Man properties, are producing and overseeing the project.

Venom is one of Marvel’s top villains and a Spider-Man fixture since he was introduced in 1988, created by writer David Michelinie and artists Todd McFarlane and Mike Zeck. The character is an alien symbiote that need a human host to survive. In return, the alien empowers its victim with incredible powers.

For the longest time, Venom was a villain but then morphed into an anti-hero and even (almost) good guy. In his current incarnation, Venom is paired with Flash Thompson, a Peter Parker bully-turned-close friend and now a government agent.

It is unclear which Venom incarnation is being used for the new project.

The bold statement concerns me the most.

Aquaman & The Flash Solo Movies Will Continue Story From Justice League

Wall Street Journal was told by film producer Charles Roven that The Flash and Aquaman films will be continuation stories from where their characters left off in Justice League. “While each movie stands alone, they’re all part of one long arc of storytelling,” said Roven.

As for Justice League, screenwriter Chris Terrio, who also penned Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice, put a lot of time and effort into learning the science and mythology of several team members. "He studied red- and blueshifts in electromagnetic physics to think about the Flash," WSJ reports, "investigated deep sea biology in the Mariana trench to create the world of Aquaman, and read the Greek historian Diodorus of Sicily’s account of the war between Amazon and Atlantis to better understand Wonder Woman."

“If you told me the most rigorous dramaturgical and intellectual product of my life would be superhero movies, I would have said you were crazy,” Terrio said.

Does the DC Cinematic Universe Have a Kevin Feige?

Speaking with THR, Snyder and his wife/producer partner Deborah championed DC’s filmmaker-driven approach but, later in the interview, also suggested the DCEU wasn’t without Feige-like creative oversight (albeit in the form of a “brain trust”):

Who else is part of the DC brain trust?

Zack Snyder: "Chuck [Roven], our partner."

Deborah Snyder: "Richard Suckle is producing some of these. On our end, Wesley Coller is an executive producer who works on all the things that we work on. He’s part of our inner family. Geoff Johns is just super valuable, and I think Zack and Geoff really have worked out a lot of the creative ideas as to where the characters are going. Geoff [ensures] we’re doing things that are true to the canon because he knows everything about these characters. And Jon Berg is our executive on all the films, and then obviously Greg [silverman] was our executive when we first came to Warner Bros., so we’ve always worked with Greg."

Based on Snyder’s comments, and previously announced partnerships, here’s a quick breakdown of the aforementioned DCEU brain trust:

  • Charles Roven – Producer (Batman V Superman, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Justice League Part One, The Flash, Aquaman, and Justice League Part Two)
  • Richard Suckle – Producer (Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman)
  • Wesley Coller – Producer (with the Snyders) at Cruel and Unusual Films
  • Geoff Johns – Chief Creative Officer at DC Comics (and DCEU Producer as well as Creative Consultant)
  • Jon Berg – Oversees DCEU live-action films as Executive Vice President of Development at Warner Bros.
  • Greg Silverman – President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production at Warner Bros.
