Suicide Squad Helped Time Warner Exceed 2016 Earnings Estimates

Recently, Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes said Suicide Squad helped the company exceeded earning predictions for 2016.

“We had a strong third quarter, which keeps us on track to exceed our original 2016 outlook and underscores our leadership in creating and distributing the very best content," said Bewkes. "In television, HBO took home more primetime Emmy Awards than any other network for the 15th consecutive year, and Time Warner’s divisions won a total of 40 Emmys, more than any other company. CNN’s standout election coverage made it the No. 1 news network in primetime among adults 18-49 for the fourth consecutive quarter, and Turner’s momentum doesn’t stop there. Year-to-date, TBS, TNT and Adult Swim are three of the top five ad-supported cable networks in primetime among adults 18-49."

Bewkes continued, saying, “In film, Warner Bros. had a strong quarter led by Suicide Squad and has the No. 1 release of the fall in Sully, while anticipation is off the charts for J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”

Finally managed to watch it. Not sure if I'm actually disappointed as I did not expect anything better. The DCU movies seem to be an utter disappointment entirely. The Batman scenes were poo, J and H didn't click and the villain concept is put to rest in the HISHE video pretty accurately.

Pretty cool Youtube feature with the 360-degree look-around during the fighting.

Experience Suicide Squad In 360 And As Harley Quinn

Warner Bros. Entertainment released a 360 degree video of the office building action scene from the movie, just a few days before Suicide Squad is officially released on Digital HD and Blu-Ray.

Experience the action first hand with Suicide Squad 360. Become immersed in a scene from the film by watching alongside the Squad and then as Harley Quinn herself.

Start out by getting your orders from Amanda Waller as part of the squad, then head out and do your duty to save the world. About halfway through the video, you'll notice director David Ayer take off a virtual reality mask and explained just how difficult it is to create such an intense action scene.

Own Suicide Squad on Digital HD 11/15 and Blu-Ray 12/13.

budget was $350 million including marketing, closer to 400 with the reshoots

$750-$800 was the minimum it needed to do to not be seen as a failure. ( http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/suicide-squads-secret-drama-rushed-916693 )

Movie did not completely fail, but articles claiming it was successful or impressive, very misleading.

Fortunately, that same reference has been proven inaccurate already. Plus the Time Warner CEO noted how the movie helped the company exceed forecasts.

reshoots are plan and set in the budget of the movie. plus no studio shows or adds their marketing cost to the film since they can claim it has a lost or balance it out with product placements & deals.

Finally saw it (theatrical cut) and man - what a hot mess. Very quick to forget about it until I just found out one of my favourite movie guys on youtube did a analysis of it. Check it out and let me know what you think (I thought most of his points were spot on - though I did kinda like the 'killer app' joke line)
