BOX OFFICE: JURASSIC WORLD Beats AVENGERS 2 With 2nd Biggest Domestic Bow Ever

It seems people do still care about dinosaurs after all. Universal's Jurassic World has taken a bite out of its competition and raked in a massive $204.6 million on its first weekend of release stateside. This puts it ahead of Marvel's Avengers: Age Of Ultron and sets a record as the second biggest domestic opening in history behind The Avengers, which took in $207.4M back in May 2012.

Dinosaurs and big monsters, when handled right, sure seem to bring the box office dollars.

Xenozoic Tales. Please. Sometime in my life.

:wishluck:

Won't matter when the biggest blowout comes 12-25-15.

All records will be destroyed.

Yup, That's the movie that will out do all others.

I did like Jurassic World a lot. It was much better than I thought it would be.

Theatre was packed!!!

Saw it Sunday. Wasn't bad, wasn't good. So much potential. So much fake looking CGI. Lots of plot holes. Lots. Was really looking forward to it, but it didn't really work....and they went wayyyy overboard with the shot for shot "homages"

...this makes me wonder if we were watching the same movie. Care to explain your issues with the film?

I had fun watching Jurassic World

Chris Pratt is officially a movie star :applause:

I rank it 2nd as my favorite in the series (Jurassic Park being the best of course )

How many of you seen easter eggs in the film?

I saw a lot of them when I was watching the movie.

Not until enough people have seen it to not spoil it.

This is exactly what it is - a fun summer blockbuster with new bigger and badder dinos. Similar to Transformers last June, this movie is meant to purely entertain without much thought and it achieved it. (thumbs u

that's all I need is to have fun. I don't need to analyze it or pick it apart. I just want an entertaining dino movie.

hope it spurs the making of Raptor Island #2 with Lorenzo Llamas. :acclaim:

I don't think you've seen it. When I was in grade school my friends always said they saw the latest/hottest movie. When you pressed them for details they always mention the scenes in the trailers and commercials. :baiting:
