After reading some of the advanced press on the outstanding work the Russo brothers have (allegedly) done on Civil War, my worries about the Infinity War movies have gone out the window. Yes, they will be packed with characters, but the screenwriters and directors take such a character-drive approach to the drama that we will at least see a strong overall vision for the films. Incredibly excited with those guys at the helm.

Will we have a glimpse of Carol Danvers before her solo movie?

According to a recent report from Heroic Insider, rumors seem to indicate that the actress cast in the role of Captain Marvel will have to arrive to the set of Avengers Infinity War by the end of this year. This means that the first glimpse audiences will get of Carol Danvers will come when Thanos finally brings his war to Earth when he gets his hands on the Infinity Stones. As excited as we are about the prospect of her arrival in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the finer details remain shaky at best. Although the actress portraying the character will obviously be on set by the end of the year, it’s unclear if Marvel has cast her yet – some reports claim the role has been filled, while other maintain that Marvel is still testing performers for the part.

Although still no word on how much it cost to produce Civil War, the details about the budget for Infinity War is a hint to how big the future movies will be.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Budget Is $1 Billion; Robert Downey Jr Pay Is Insane

Bleeding Cool were the first to report that Marvel Studios plan on spending this astronomical sum on the third and fourth films to bring the superheroes together. The news has started to emerge on the eve of New York Comic Con, which began in the Big Apple on Thursday and will continue until Sunday.

Marvel Studios is still very much in the early stages of planning for Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2. In fact, Bleeding Cool also reported that a -script for the blockbuster hasn’t even been created yet, and they’re still ironing out the plot. Despite this lack of information, it’s been teased that several Avengers characters are likely to die in the film.

This indicates that the supposed $1 billion budget may ultimately go down, or maybe even up. If the -script hasn’t even been written yet, how can the studio know how much scenes will cost?

n fact, back in August, Forbes revealed that Robert Downey Jr. was actually paid $80 million last year alone for starring in Avengers: Age Of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War, an amount that’s only going to increase when his royalties from the films come in. This came after he allegedly, via Variety, made $50 million for starring in The Avengers and $75 million from his work on Iron Man 3.

But that’s nothing compared to what he is potentially going to pocket for starring in Avengers: Infinity War Part One and Avengers: Infinity War Part Two.

Bleeding Cool have insisted that Marvel has earmarked $400 million to pay for the films’ screenwriter, director, producers and principal actors. A whopping $200 million of this total will go straight into the pocket of Robert Downey, Jr.

This. Gimme all of this. They have to establish that Thanos is different than all the other villains...that he won't hesitate to kill and CAN kill most of these heroes.

I hope they kill off:

Iron Man

The Vision

Scarlett Witch

War Machine

:wishluck:

I'd be for that, but I'd leave The Witch alive. Have her develop a relationship with Vision, have Thanos kill him, then have the heroes 'reboot" him but without the emotion...thus crushing her emotionally. Byrne did that in WCA. Brilliant.

Really? I read the early issues when they first came out.

The original Human Torch also returns from his own apparent demise, casting doubt on the Vision's identity. The Vision and the Scarlet Witch's children are then revealed to be fragments of the soul of the demon Mephisto, who had been broken apart by Franklin Richards shortly before the birth of the twins. The twins are absorbed back into Mephisto, which temporarily drives Wanda insane. Although she recovers, Wanda and the Vision separate, each operating on a different Avengers team.[20]

The Vision gradually regains his emotions, by adopting new brain patterns from deceased scientist Alex Lipton, and gains a new body that resembles his original. In addition, Simon Williams' brain patterns gradually reemerge and meld with Lipton's patterns, restoring the Vision's full capacity for emotion.[21]

Shortly after a reformation of the Avengers, the Vision sustains massive damage in the final battle with the sorceress Morgan Le Fey,[22] and although incapacitated for several weeks, is eventually rebuilt and recovers.

20 - Avengers West Coast #51–52

21 - Vision, #1–4 (Nov. 1994 – Feb. 1995)

22 - Avengers vol. 3, #4 (May 1998)

It sounds like the massive damage was later on from what is posted on his wiki page.

In a storyline called "Vision Quest", rogue agents of the United States government, manipulated by the time traveler Immortus, abduct the Vision and dismantle him. The Avengers recover the parts, and Dr. Pym rebuilds the Vision, but with a chalk-white complexion. However, the revived Simon Williams does not allow his brain patterns to be used again to provide a matrix for Vision's emotions, explaining that the original process, done without his consent, had "ripped out his soul". This, along with damage to the Vision's synthetic skin when he was dismantled, results in the synthezoid's resurrection as a colorless and emotionless artificial human.[19]

19 - West Coast Avengers #42–44 (March–May 1989)

That sounds really cool. Though it was more he was disassembled by Immortus. I didn't remember this happening.

Remember the love triangle between Vision/Wanda/Power Man? Remember the epic slugfests between Vision and Wonder Man? Remember Wonder Man's nutjob brother and Vision? Remember how Ultron was involved? Wouldn't it be great if an Avengers movie had Power Man in it? :cloud9:
