The "My Favorite Piece From Your Collection" Game!

184 posts in this topic

Well, I'm mostly a Marvel guy, but there's a reason this page is the most viewed and commented piece in Bill's collection:

Flash #147, page 1

A true piece of brilliance by the late Carmine Infantino and a great introduction to a team-up by two of the most diabolical Flash villains.

Here is my gallery:

So many creative and fun pieces you have posted. That made it tough to pick just one.

In the end I kept coming back to

Chris Stevens is a favorite of mine. The depth he achieves with his use of gray tones is amazing. It helps that he's a master of composition and injecting humor in great ways. So many great and creative pieces you have posted but this one sits just atop the throne for me.

You took too long to type Chris. Post above you got Doc!

I am sure I am not alone saying this but my favorite piece in Chris' collection is definitely his Dave Stevens Rocketeer piece.

Dave Stevens' Betty from The Rocketeer

We all know Dave is a master at the human form and this page shows Dave at his finest. The line work is impeccable and Betty is absolutely gorgeous. Just a stunning example of Dave's work.

You have plenty of impressive pieces, and many of them fall into my wheelhouse, so it was no easy choice.

But if I must keep only one, it will be the splash from Superman Red Son:

The picture is striking. The pose of Superman is emblematic, with Superman flying, holding the "world" in one hand, and giving his balloon back to a kid. And I always loved the Red Son story.

My CAF is in my sig, and also here:

I don't have many pieces, so it should be quick. :D

This Alex Ross piece is my favorite from yours.

I'm not a huge Green Arrow fan, but I can really appreciate the detail he puts into his work. Each piece is it's own standalone work of art.

This is my favorite from your, gruesome Walking Dead splash

I think I'd have to go with this awesome splash page of yours, Lee. A meeting of two monarchs, sometimes allies and sometimes enemies, is certainly a piece that is always going to impress. Plus, Mike Sekowsky is an often overlooked talent, too boot.

Wonderful idea for a thread.

You have some lovely pages but the one that jumps out to me is your Marvel Comics Presents 87, stunning splash of the beast.

A beautiful runner up is the Marvel Comics Presents 73 splash of Shanna. Some beautiful detailed work.

Thanks for the compliments, Dave, but you forgot to put a link to the piece you said you liked. No idea what that link you posted is actually about.

Don't sweat it. I think maybe the boards are glitchy. I couldn't see some folks CAF link in their sigs yesterday. Weird stuff. :screwy:
